I have an HP DV6000, and the thing wont power on. I have had it for over a year, and my warranty is up. I press the power button, and the Power and HDD Indicators and touch controls turn on for about a second, and then turn back off. I have tried this with and without the power adapter. When i plug in the power adapter, the machineindicates that the battery is charging (it indicates through the charging indicator light (Looks like a Lightning Bolt).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Actually, this laptop is not mine. And this HP Pavilion dv6000 comes with Windows Vista by default.

My brother replaced it with windows xp. and since then the web cam is not working.

I guess its the drivers problem. But I'm unable to find the xp drivers for this laptop.

How can I resolve this.. Please help :(

HP Pavilion dv6000: Power up but no Display

I power up my computer and it starts to work but the screen does not come on. On the right hand side instead of the steady white light I get an orange blinking light and the Caps lock flashes as well. I've tried restart but same result. I was told that I could open the lap top and reset the CPU. Will that help or is my laptop beyond repair to where I need a new one. Additionally, would slaving my laptop to another to have the factory settings reset help?

The laptop will run from battery only, and the power inlet connector now makes a faint beeping noise and the light lightly pulses (like a heartbeat). I'd like to replace it myself. Thanks

i have the exact laptop and its been having some charging issues after replacing charger several times it stopped charging all together or powering up. i took it to geek squad they told me it was the circuit motherboard and would be better off buyiny a new latop im a college student and cant afford to, is there a way i could fix it on the cheap???

I am having a slimier problem mine was dropped once and is has not worked since, so there is little hope. when ever you plug it in all of the lights come on but the screen does not, also the fan comes on, you are still able to turn it off by holding the power button for a few seconds but it does not beep. when you unplug it it will turn off. please help!

My grandpa has a hp laptop and he is connected to his new wifi. He tries to open his browser and there is a connection issue. I tried command prompts. I need a quick answer

Got the internet working. Grandpa just got a network cable. Doesn't matter cause he uses laptop on a desk anyways. Thanks for the answers
