HP dv5-1125nr: Won't turn on with battery in after it been sitting a while

First off the model is dv6-7210us, but that was not one of my choices on here.

I have a weird scenario. I bought a new battery for this laptop. When you first plug in the battery and press power it works fine. The battery reads and charges. However, if you leave it sit shut off for like an hour or more then press power nothing happens. It doesn't matter if the power cord is plugged in or not. I have to pull the battery out and either plug it back in or just run it off the power cord to turn it on. Can't seem to figure this out. This is something I am donating to a learning facility for kids with reading problems. I need this to work right.

HP dv5-1125nr: Serial number not found

Hello

I'm Bojan and I have HP DV5 and it doesn't start up.

For some time, on boot up my laptop, I've received message Serial Number Not Found and Press Enter to continue, after that Windows boot up. But few days ago I've got black screen and message Serial Number Not Found and that's it.

I cannot enter BIOS or anything.

I tested HDD and it's OK.

I tested RAM and it's OK.

When I disconnect HDD I managed to access BIOS and in Info section Serial number missing, CPID are zeros and some other data are missing or zeros.

It seems that I need to enter eeprom and try to fill missing data. I have all necessary data except CPID. It should be sticker somewhere on laptop but I cannot find it!

Do you have any suggestion or advice?

Best regards

HP Pavilion dv5000: PowerPoint picture placeholders exhibiting erratic behavior?

Our corporate PowerPoint 2003 template makes extensive use of picture placeholders. Someone came to me with the attached slides and the complaint that after placing pictures and saving the file, the next time they open it, the pictures are not visible or have changed positions seemingly at random.

The missing pictures are in fact hidden behind other pictures, in the case of the second slide all three are in that first position. First thing I tried was right click, Reset Slide. That causes the pictures to jump into the three positions, but when you save and re-open, they are stacked again. When I reset the first slide, I'm seeing the three images, but also the placeholder with "click icon to add picture" in one case on top of the picture, which I've never seen.

Is the problem the fact that the placeholders are overlapping on the slide, so PowerPoint can't keep them straight? When I recreated this same layout in a fresh presentation, it behaves fine. Is this file somehow corrupt? Or are picture placeholders just unreliable? Any suggestions for a workaround or fix?

Thanks.

HP dv5-1125nr: How do I fix an uneven format in my rtf?

I found a very rare .rtf document, in which the text looks pretty decent. Fortunately, there are no photos in the document, but there is text that needs to be pulled out. Some fragments of the document look unrecognizable. Because of this, I thought that it would be nice to convert rtf, at least into text or another text format. I tried to use for this Word, but different versions of Word generate different kinds of rtf. When bold text begins, the text is replaced with strange characters. If I open the file and save it again, it will become even more unrecognizable.
