HP Pavillion dm4t-2100: Fan wore out trying to update

I was trying to update windows 10 and it was taking forever. The fan began making odd sounds then quit. I shut it down immediately to let it cool and upon trying to restart, got the message “no fan. Continuing may cause overheating and loss of data. Do you want to continue?” Of course I said “no.”

I need this computer because some DICOM CD’s I get won’t play on Windows 11.

HP Pavilion DM4: Laptop keeps disconnecting from WiFi

Laptop keeps disconnecting from WiFi. Definitely not a router issue as three other computers in the house are not experiencing this.

After a few minutes of connectivity the WiFi is no longer connected to laptop. When trying to 're connect sometimes the WiFi signal is no longer there, turning off the network search and on again several times and it appears again. Even when visibly it takes several tries of connecting the network to actually provide internet. It will say connecting then the network will disappear and the internet on the laptop will turn itself off, then on again and the signal is gone again.

Please help.

Thanks

HP Pavilion DM4: battery bay latch won't slide open to replace battery

This is an HP Pavilion DM4-3055DX. The battery needs to be replaced. However, the latch to open the bay won't slide open to release the battery. I don't want to force it too hard. I figure I need to remove the back cover to get to the latch mechanism and battery. Is this a reasonable approach? Are there any specifics out there to remove the back cover of this laptop?

Thank you in advance!

HP Pavilion DM3-3010US: Will a Laptop Continue To Work If there is water damage?

I sent my laptop back to the manufacture to resolve issue's with the optical drive. This was after the technician logged in remotely; and completed several diagnostics to determine if it was an actual problem. I was then contacted by the technician that was assigned my case and informed that there was water damage. and informed that it would cost more than it is worth to repair. I informed them that they were only supposed to be fixing the optical drive, there was no water damage and if they were going to charge me to fix the optical drive, then just ship it back; mind you it is still under warranty. I could live without the DVD drive.

They sent my system back totally fried, it will not even power on. When I contacted the manufacture after receiving my system back, now inoperable they tell me it is nothing they can do.

My question is, if the computer had that much water damage, would it have continued to work? Basically I am being told that once they opened it up, the previous water damage (which there was none on my part) prevented it from working any further. Is it possible for a computer to have extensive water damage and continue to function?
