<title><![CDATA[HP Pavilion x2 10-n113dx: Cannot boot, BIOS reset]]></title>

<p>When I try to boot it straight away powers off unless I hold power for like 30 seconds and then I get an invalid checksum bios error.</p>

<p>That is teh only time the screen ever lights up, outside of that it's constantly black.</p>

<description><![CDATA[<p>The computer completely lacks the capacity of updating the OS. Hence, I need to upgrade the hard disk. I checked that this machine has a soldered hard drive (eMMC). Does anybody has the exact location and if there is any other possibility of upgrading the hard drive without soldering the new one?</p>

<title><![CDATA[HP Pavilion 10: Diminished Battery Needs Replacement]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>I bought the HP Pavilion 14, core i5 with Windows 10 Home OS in 2020. In a year (conveniently right after warranty) the battery stopped supporting, it wouldn't even turn on without uninterrupted electricity. I had heard that this was a problem with this series and despite 2-3 battery replacements, within months the issue would return, so I never went to get it corrected or replaced. Cut to 2025, the condition is worse, it runs on full-time electricity but it also has this screen shaking thing the first time you turn it on. It takes a reboot (at least) to make it run without the screen issue.</p>

<p>What is your advice? Should I get it repaired? I don't think I will be able to exchange it for a refurbished laptop and I do not want to buy a new laptop since I am boycotting purchase that directly links to the genocide in Congo and Palestine.</p>
