HP Officejet 4500 Wireless: Why does my printer not recognize a new print cartridge?

The printer continually tells me my HP 901 color cartridge is empty -- even after I have just replaced it -- and refuses to print in color. The black cartridge gives it no trouble. Is it possible that the contacts for the color cartridge are fouled or damaged in some way?

I have an HP laptop I bought about 4 yrs ago with an HP office jet 4500 wireless. After working ok for yrs, the computer now cannot communicate with the printer. I have checked connection, checked printers and devices. When I click on HP solutions it says 'printer not connected' when it obviously is. What now? I'm really not in the mood to buy another device. Can I repair the wireless card on the printer if that is the issue?

I've tried everything: cleaning the rollers, checking for debris, hard & soft resets, software re-installations. Wireless, Fax, Scanner features are all working flawlessly. Printer was never put through its paces, new ink, we print a few pages a month. HP suggested I had a firmware virus, computer has been scanned for viruses, and firmware freshly reinstalled. It all started with a carriage jam, which I cleared, paper never fed through again.

Is anything visually wrong with the included picture?

I was given an HP Officejet 4500 g510n from someone, and there was no input paper tray in the box when I put the printer together. Where can I find a tray, and are some of them universal, or can I buy a replacement paper tray for a newer model printer that would fit my discontinued model?

Needed to replace black ink cartridge, opened front door and removed cartridge. Left door open while I went to store to buy new cartridge. Wife said when I was gone, printer made a loud banging noise then stopped. Came home, replaced cartridge and now printer makes a loud rat-a-tat banging noise each time it prints something new. Have removed and re-installed both cartridges several times but still have loud banging noise. What’s up?

Lines about 2 inches apart. Tried to print a configuration page and it was blank except for very very faint words you could barely see on both edges. Center of page was completely blank. This is an officejet Pro 8500A.

I must have put the color ink cartridge in my printer incorrectly, now it’s wedged in and I can’t remove it. Is there a panel somewhere that i can remove for better access to the ink cartridges?

My printer is not picking up the paper when it goes to the printer. It keeps a loud scrubbing noise when it goes to the printer. The computer is not recognizing the printer. The printer is in an error state. It is giving an out of paper error message. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hello, I noticed that whenever I turn on my printer, it makes this very loud banging sound. I managed to narrow it down to a broken tooth on the rack the scanner light goes across, as shown in the picture. Is there a way to replace it or get it repaired? Also, this isn't the wireless model, but there is no device listing for the plain one.
