After days of diagnostic work, having tried 3 different 3rd party aftermarket batteries, here's my conclusion: 3rd party batteries such as BTI batteries are "physically compatible" with the HP Omen X 2S 15-dg0020nr, but they are incompatible at the firmware level. They might work with less demanding laptops, but not with high-wattage dual screen HP Omen X laptops. Here's what I think happens:

• SMBus handshake failure: The BTI/aftermarket controller passes basic detection but fails to properly report real-time telemetry (such as cell temperature or instantaneous wattage draw) back to the laptop's EC.
• Hard shutdowns: When the system switches from AC adapter power to battery power, the EC detects an unsupported or out-of-spec power reading from the aftermarket BTI gas-gauge chip and triggers a hard shutdown within seconds to protect the dual-screen motherboard.

To make matters worse, even if I try to use the laptop with the AC adapter while 3rd party battery is installed, the EC trips the system's BD PROCHOT safety signal because it doesn't recognize the battery as a genuine HP battery, which throttles the CPU clock speed down to 0.8 GHz and locks it there, rendering the laptop so sluggish it becomes practically useless.

If you know a workaround other than buying a genuine HP from eBay (no inventory elsewhere), or having to re-cell the battery (micro-soldering 6 new pouch cells into the old battery pack, a difficult and potentially dangerous task), I would love to hear your thoughts.

Issue:

The spacebar key on my HP ZBook Fury has lost its normal tactile feel. It feels mushy, soft, and unresponsive when pressed, especially compared to the surrounding keys. The key still registers input, but the bounce-back and key travel are off.

Questions:

1. Is this issue typically caused by accumulated dust/debris, a misaligned metal stabilizer bar, or a failing rubber dome under the keycap?
2. What is the safest technique to unclip the spacebar keycap on this specific ZBook chassis without snapping the plastic scissor hinges or damaging the wire clips underneath?

1. Using different USB ports (including USB 2.0 ports).

2. Recreating the bootable USB.

3. Enabling Legacy Support/CSM and disabling Secure Boot in the BIOS (F10).

4. Using MBR partition schemes.

Despite all this, the flash drive is never detected by the system. Are there any specific BIOS settings or known workarounds to get an HP 2000 to recognize a bootable USB?

Hi

Yesterday the laptop was at 95% and in almost a minute the charge dropped to 10, recharging only brings it into 14 or so, which is definitely not a great sign, so i want to check on the battery to see if it's a fire hazard (spicy pillow) that need a replace

(Was using fedora-atomic-based linux at that time if that's helpful)
