HP G60: Wireless Adapter Missing & Wireless Light Stays Orange...HELP!

Dropped my laptop, nothing broke, but now my wireless adapter is missing and can't be found in the device manager or in the wireless connections screen.

My wireless button is orange instead of its normal blue light and clicking it doesn't change it to the blue light.

All that is showing in the Network Adapter of my Device Manager is my ethernet (Realtek RTL8102E/8103E Family PCI) and not my Wireless LAN which used to show.

The wireless adapter is also not found in the Control Panel --->Mobile PC--->Adjust Commonly Used Mobility Settings. HP Network Assistant also doesn't work, which I also uninstalled and reinstalled.

At the start up screen, I receive a notice that Wireless Module is not found.

Here's what I've done so far, but with no success:

1) Updated to the latest BIOS version

2) Made sure the Wireless LAN is enabled in the BIOS screen

3) Ensured that there weren't any errors in the Network Adapter in the Device Manager

4) Sleep mode disabled in Power Management in Device Manager

5) Downloaded wireless adapter driver updates

6) System Restore to a previously working condition.

7) Opened the back of the computer where the wireless module is and reseated it just in case it shifted out of place when the laptop dropped. I did this by unscrewing the wireless module and putting it back into position.

I did all of this and my wireless adapter is still not found. If it was showing up then at least I can enable it if it had become disabled, but this is not even the case. On the exterior, nothing is broken. So I'm clueless on what to do.

Please, please, please help.

HP G60: Wireless switch stopped working in Linux.

This is a new problem. Wireless worked fine in Linux until two days ago. Now pressing button wont turn it on. Trying with a live disc also doesn't help so I know its not the software. In Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, it is acting up as well but still works. In Windows, I have to press the button twice to turn on the wireless card after it boots up and then the switch turns off if the computer is idle for a few minutes. "Allow computer to turn off this device to save power" is unchecked. Why is it doing this and how to fix?

HP G60: Laptop says no bootable device

My laptop hpG60 got a message from hp to check for viruses. After I allowed hp to run a diagnostic it suggested I backup my files. The blank DVDs and CDs were not recognized by my laptop so I had noting to back files up externally but it specified that my files would be backed up in :F of hard drive. As it proceeded to give commands I followed and at the end I got a black screen saying no bootable device--insert boot disk and press any key. Well I don't have a boot disk so how do I resolve this problem?

HP G60: My computer started smoking and no longer turns on, now what?

As I was putting the computer to sleep I noticed that it was smoking. The computer seemed to go to sleep fine but now will not turn on. I know the hard drive still works because I was able to use it in a friend's machine. Before the incident with the smoke the battery had become less reliable and the fan seemed like it made too much noise even when the computer was not in use. I tried getting a different charger (as customer support suggested) but that did not help.

From the research I have done I think I need a new powerboard or motherboard (I'm not sure if they are separate).

What are my options?
