HP Elitebook 8460p: Computer doesn't turn on

My laptop was sitting in a shed for like half a year. That's when I think the CMOS died. Any ideas on how I can replace the cmos? I am quite certain of this because it turned on earlier, and said the cmos clock is invalid.

I have a HP Elitebook 8460p i7 2nd gen laptop with 8GB Ram (4x2), can i upgrade to 16GB DDR3L Ram (8x2)??

i’m confused with ddr3 vs ddr3L!

HP Elitebook 8460p: Randomly doesn't power on, not sure why

I actually have an HP Elitebook 8470p but its similar to the 8460p. Currently it has this random issue of not powering on and I don’t quite understand what the LED lights mean. Typically I can get it working by removing everything (ram, battery, cmos battery) and reinstalling the items until it runs again but its kind of annoying of having to do it everytime.

Also note the orange LED light does not show even with the battery plugged in (idk why) although it still charges the battery.

Someone else mentioned the possibility of it be a dying motherboard but I wanted to see if its possible to fix it rather than buying a new one.

My laptop was working very well but suddenly it stop turning on..it keeps restarting before it reach the windows logo ..i discover that the hard disk is damaged..so i buy a new hard disk(SSD SAMSUNG 850 EVO) but i can't install windows in it.

It keeps showing the download states bar for a long time..(the problem is not the SSD disk because i try in another hard disk and the same problem shows again.

No fans spinning also I can't hear the hard drive sound just the LID of the power's on then of. There is no life on the device at all , It's charging though.
