HP EliteBook 640 G11: display failure during system booting

My laptop was dispaying blue screen and after a while it did not display anything. A few days before the incident there were some frequent messages which told me to upgrade to windows 11 or there will be end user support but when i tried i was told my system was not compatible with windows 11. Question 1: What can be the solution for the failure to reboot system plus the screen?

Question 2: can then failure to upgrade to windows 11 be the cause of the failure?

HP EliteBook 640 G11: Is there a way I can get this cover to look less bent?

For context this is the machine I got the board from and threw it in that (now formally) broken 640 G11:

I don't know how in the he double hockey sticks did the donor in that badly. At least it had an intact motherboard, SSD, battery and RAM. I have never seen one this mutilated before; screens and MDM? Absolutely. BIOS passwords? Yes.

Is there a way I can try and get that cover a LITTLE better or is this basically going to need a replacement cover at this point to properly fix the remaining damage? The dent is still bad enough to hang in a laptop bag.
