- Windows 10 Home

- Hp x360 1020 G2 (This wasn’t on the device list, so i chose the most similar type)

- Any kind of mouse

- J.Burrows Type-C USB 3.0 Hub 4 Port

- Just a quick thing, this model of computer has no USB ports so the hub is required

My issue is that whenever I plug any form of mouse into my laptop, nothing happens. The red light on the mouse will either just stay on, or only light up for a second. When I try this mouse on other computers, it will work perfectly with no issues at all. Before you say “Well then it’s obviously your USB hub”, its not. A friend let me try the hub on their exact same model computer, and it worked. In device manager, instead of showing the mouse it says things like “Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed)”. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it.

the device uses eSET encryption, and i can't unencrypt the hard drive without admin access, is there anyway to unencrypt the hard drive without admin?

(also i plan on literally just giving this to my dad to use this a personal computer, so im not doing any shady stuff with the business info, i just want to reinstall windows🤷‍♀️)

Ive tried

using a thumb drive to reinstall win 10

reinstall win 10 via the cloud

deleting eSET, gives me a error that "you must unencrypt all drives before uninstalling eSET" (that requires admin btw)

installing chromeOS flex (but my thumb drive wouldn't work :( )

help??

would i have no option other than to get a new hard drive?

I have been searching online for videos of where the CMOS battery is located inside my HP EliteBook x360 1030 G2, but I have not been successful with any tangible search results.

Please, can you share a video of where the CMOS battery is located? I need to replace the CMOS battery ASAP!

The charger it came with seems totally fried, since it doesn't work on other laptops either. But even when I tried using a few other working chargers on this laptop, it still wouldn't light up or respond. It feels like power might be flowing through when it is plugged in, and I even popped it open to try running it straight off the wall charger without the battery connected, but still no luck.

What do you think could be causing this, and how can I fix it? Is the motherboard just cooked?

I noted some liquid in my PC after opening it. And it wouldn't turn on . Even the fan are not rolling.

- Tested with multiple known-good chargers and different wall outlets.

- Tried both USB-C charging ports on the laptop.

- Performed a hard reset by opening the laptop, disconnecting the internal battery, and holding the power button for 15+ seconds to drain residual power.

- Attempted to power the laptop on with the battery disconnected and only the AC adapter plugged in, but there is still no light and no power.

Since there is no light even with the battery bypassed, I suspect a motherboard or DC-in port issue. Are there specific fuses, MOSFETs, or charging ICs on this board known to fail that I should check?
