A few keys on my HP 1030 g3 have stopped working. Specificaly q, r, t, a, shift, and a few others randomly. Canned air from the keyboard side didn’t work. Suggestions?

HP EliteBook x360 1030 G3: USB devices are not working on my HP Laptop

Alright, so here’s what I’ve got

- Windows 10 Home

- Hp x360 1020 G2 (This wasn’t on the device list, so i chose the most similar type)

- Any kind of mouse

- J.Burrows Type-C USB 3.0 Hub 4 Port

- Just a quick thing, this model of computer has no USB ports so the hub is required

My issue is that whenever I plug any form of mouse into my laptop, nothing happens. The red light on the mouse will either just stay on, or only light up for a second. When I try this mouse on other computers, it will work perfectly with no issues at all. Before you say “Well then it’s obviously your USB hub”, its not. A friend let me try the hub on their exact same model computer, and it worked. In device manager, instead of showing the mouse it says things like “Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed)”. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it.

HP Elitebook x360 1030 G8: How to replace display hinges?

I currently daily drive an HP elitebook 1030 g8, and have recently noticed that he hinges have seriously deteriorated! To the point where several angles beyond 150 degrees will cause the display to fall flat.

I have 2 other systems that may provide me with the parts to solve this issue:

Elitebook 1030 g4
Elitebook 830 g8

If either of these are suitable for a replacement, and you know the method to engage this process please help!
I also do need directions on how to execute this repair because little/no repair material is available online.

Why does my pc restart at intervals and displays a message on the boot screen” installing windows update “ and then comes on only to restart severally again with irregular intervals. I can’t do anything with my pc because it might just restart again. Also when it boots it show a notification “ restart required. Your pc needs to be restarted to finish setting up this device: HP R90 System Firmware “

My laptop doesn't display anything on the screen when I press the power button. Only the light from my caps lock key is on. Also, the light on the power button keeps blinking.

HP EliteBook X360 1020 G2: I can only use my laptop with a charger plugged in.

My laptop was fine until oneday while multitasking it turned off.For me to turn it back on i have to plug in a charger. The moment i try to do multitasking without the charger plugged in,it turns off again. From there i can only use the laptop while charging.

HP EliteBook x360 1030 G3: How to unencrypt the hard drive without admin access?

the laptop has sat on a shelf collecting dust for about 2-3 years, as its a work computer that was just given to my mom after they stopped working for the company that owned this laptop, and obviously they aren't wanting this computer from us, as its been about 2 years.

the device uses eSET encryption, and i can't unencrypt the hard drive without admin access, is there anyway to unencrypt the hard drive without admin?

(also i plan on literally just giving this to my dad to use this a personal computer, so im not doing any shady stuff with the business info, i just want to reinstall windows🤷‍♀️)

Ive tried

using a thumb drive to reinstall win 10

reinstall win 10 via the cloud

deleting eSET, gives me a error that "you must unencrypt all drives before uninstalling eSET" (that requires admin btw)

installing chromeOS flex (but my thumb drive wouldn't work :( )

help??

would i have no option other than to get a new hard drive?

The charging port on my hp elitebook 360x 1030 is wobbly and only works if I lean it on the side and wiggle and angle the cable end just so. What should I purchase in order to fix it? Everything else seems fine, l'm not too concerned about battery life.
