HP Deskjet F4480: Was working fine but stopped after MacOS reinstall and update

Printer and Scanner was perfectly OK under Mac's HiSierra (10.13.6) native driver, including viewing the Print Queue, Options and Supplies.

After a system crash, I had to format the HD and reinstall the OS, updated to Monterey (12.7.6). The system normally shows the printer under Printers & Scanners, status as idle and responds to at Cmd-P. It presents the print preview and proceeds after clicking PRINT: it goes to BUSY, shows the printing process flow, the printer icon temporarily shows into the dock, then returns to IDLE and finishes … without any print, though.

A pdf is generated if a print-on-file is requested.

It's like Monterey's driver no longer works with the DJ F44080, however there's no error message. The process completes “normally” but the printer just does nothing, no response.

Unfortunately, hp no longer supports this perfectly functional printer and removed all references to it from their site.

Any hints as of what to do? Any alternative functional driver recommended?

PS: the printer hardware still makes a copy autonomously.

HP Deskjet 2600: Paper Feed Fails Intermittently & Often

For the last few months, the paper feed often fails, for both print-from-computer and copy-at-the printer.

This HP 2655 is 4-years-old, has excellent print quality with no paper jams.

I’d like to fix the feed problem and keep this printer.

The orange out-of-paper light blinks, even though there may be one or several pages in the feeder.

This failure happens sometimes with the first page, and sometimes only after several have already fed and printed. It fails to feed more often than not.

Three things may help:

1. Sometimes, pushing the blinking light button once or several times starts thepaper feeding.

2. Sometimes, taking the paper our, fanning the bottom edges, and replacing it works.

3. Sometimes, tapping the top of the paper stack works.

All pages always, eventually, feed and print, but only after fiddling with the button and/or the paper in the feed.

The same failure happens using either HP’s recommended paper, or paper from Target.

Running HP Utility’s "paper feed cleaning" does not help.

Looking with a flashlight at the paper-feed area shows no problem I can see.

I’ve found no help on the HP website or from downloading the 128 page manual.

My printer is trying to connect to a wifi that no longer exists. When I hold the wifi and cancel button for 3,5,10 seconds nothing changes with the lights. lights are flashing, the blue wifi one goes just over half the speed of the white power flashing light. i turned it off on the button, then on again, not just the white light flashes with a '0' on the screen, every other animation has gone.

The display of my printer doesn’t light up at all. It used to show things like WiFi connection, and the paper indicator light would turn on, but we did put paper in the paper tray. We’ve plugged and unplugged the power cord many times, but it’s still the same.

Would love to ad a picture. When you install new printer cartridges they move to the right and then back to print mode when you close the lid. "They" are not moving back to print and "stuck" on the right hand side.

I love this printer and agree with the description you posted. I have extra ink cartridges so would love to fix the printer and keep using until my ink drys up!
