I am an owner of compaq presario C700 laptop.My problem is certain of my keys do not work all the time.

Two months before my a,s,d and f1,f2,f3,f8 and delete were not working.Then after a month all came back and the Ctrl,Shift,Del etc were not working.Now they came back and I am not able to get Enter,Del,0,1etc and the up and down arrows.Some of my key like L work on their own.I performed a Os reinstall and took out just the whole keypad and the connection the plastic strip and re attached it again.Nothing happend.I can type the others fine.When the L key works automatically I just taps the L and the keys nearby to stop it.Why is this.Please help me...

My laptop has a grey screen. I went to a privately owned computer repair store and the guy told me that I would have to leave it with him for 2 months. That's a little sneaky. I also asked my friend who gave me the laptop and he said the problem might very well be the hard drive. but I just want to make sure. It's a good machine, it turns on fine, the only concern in the grey screen. I want to try to fix it on my own but I would need some help from someone. Hope somebody reads this and they can tell me EXACTLY what to do.

HP Compaq Presario C700: Upgraded RAM but didn't work

A friend asked me to upgrade the RAM in their Compaq Presario notebook. The correct RAM was purchased and was installed but notebook would not start.

I uninstalled the new RAM (2GB) and reinstalled the original (512MB!!!) however the computer is not starting.

Don't know where to go from here, and HP support are just not supportive at all unless I want to pay...please help!!
