HP Color LaserJet Pro M452dn: HP Color LaserJet Pro M452dn squeaks when warming up and printing

My HP Color LaserJet Pro M452dn printer squeaks when warming up and printing. This printer has four toner cartridges. The noise began a few months ago after I replaced the last two True Image third party toner cartridges with v4Ink third party toner cartridges. At this point, all four toner cartridges are from v4Ink. Sometimes, if I remove and reseat the last two v4Ink cartridges I installed the printer won't squeak when warming up and printing the first page but will start to squeak on the second and subsequent pages. The True Image toner cartridges have been recycled so I don't have a spare set of toner cartridges. The printer won't print unless all four toner cartridges are present.

Things I have tried recently.

Removing one toner cartridge at a time and letting the printer warm up. The printer will squeak.

Removing all four toner cartridges at the same time. The printer will not squeak. I don't know if this means the v4Ink toner cartridges squeak or if the toner cartridges engage gears in the printer itself and it's those gears that are squeaking. When there are no toner cartridges are there some internal gears that don't spin?

I looked at the gears of the v4Ink toner cartridges. I tried to turn them but there was resistance. I didn't try to force it.

What is the next best step in troubleshooting this? The toner cartridges are pretty full. For that reason, along with the $63 replacement price on Amazon, I'm hesitant to have that be the next step. However, in doing some web searches at least one user on another forum noted for a different HP printer model he fixed the squeak by replacing toner cartridges until he found the one that squeaked.

Could the problem be a gear or similar in the printer itself? If so, how easy is it to open up the printer and try and find that gear?
