I bought a used one and was taking it apart to remove the write protection screw and I noticed a very mangled heatsink with a stripped screw and a hp service sticker. Most of the screws in this machine have been stripped and I wondered if anyone knew the sizes. I would prefer to buy a laptop screw kit (pictured below) or just screws rather than a pricey genuine replacement screw kit as I have multiple of these.

When I plug it in to charge

It needs to be wiggled or spun until the light comes on & then it will charge

getting harder & harder to get a connection

I have a HP Chromebook 14 G4. When powered on, the screen stays black [no backlight] but you can see [using flashlight] that the image is there. How can I determine if this is a LCD, lcd cable, or system board issue?

HP Chromebook 14 G4: How repairable is water damage?

Hi Guys,

I have an HP Elitebook 840 G5 (14-cm0999na) and it's had some water damage.

About a 3rd of the keys on the right hand side was water logged and the battery may be affected as it only turns on for a second.

How screwed am I and how much would it be to repair??

HP Chromebook 14 G4: Power On/Off light on left hand side of unit stays on for 10 seconds, then goes off for 3 seconds continually. Have disconnected battery, still does the same thing.
