my PC only charges when it is OFF,if I try to ON it while it is charging it will shut down while trying to boot and if its already ON and I plug the charger it will not charge

HP 600 Series: My laptop won't charge

I have two HP laptops. One of them won't charge using the same charger. If I charge the battery on the first one and place it in the second laptop work fine. I disassembled it and checked for the DC power jack, and it worked perfectly. Any ideas about what could be the problem?
