HP 14-ep0000 Series: Why does my usb act like a key for my laptop

hi, 14 year old Seth here, im having a very wierd problem, recently i just finished printing and when i remove the usb cord that connects to the printer, my laptop just suddenly turned off, i didnt think much of it because i thought it just went to sleep, but when i try to press some of my keys, my laptop screen dowsnt turn on, i panicked and held the power button for 5 seconds to do a force restart, but when i tried to open it again, it just wont start up, so i tried to replug the usb of the printer, and when i tried to open it again, it still wont work, i almost lost hope and just closed the laptop, but after a minute or so, i opened the laptop again, and it turned on! (it was still plugged in the printer and the printer wasnt plugged into any power source) so i tried unplugging it again, then tried to turn it on(still didnt work), but then reclosed and opened the laptop again then the it powers on, i assume that this is a mother board problem because i this happens with every usb port devices i have, even usbs, now i always bring an empty usb to turn on my laptop, the usb port is at the left part of the laptop, should i try to give this to an it expert and let him investigate the problem? i also assume that this is a ground/ short circuit problem. if you help and assist me with this problem, i will be very thankyou (sorry for my english, im a filipino)
