HMDX Chill: My speaker is heating up and now won't charge.

When I charged my HMDX bluetooth speaker it would get really hot around the base and now it won't charge at all. I would plug it into a cellphone charger and plug that into a standard outlet. please help me fix my device!

The charging cable packed with my device is only about 6 inches long! can I use a different micro-usb charging cable to charge my device?the one I have is just too short to be convenient.

I want to plug my speaker into my Ipod which doesn't have bluetooth capabilities. My speaker didn't come with an audio cable. What kind of audio cable do I need to attach my speaker to my ipod?
