Google Pixel Tablet: Does this screen need to be replaced?

I wonder if this screen might be able to be repaired, and not necessarily replaced. Would it be worth it to take it off and reattach it to see if that fixes the problem, before I buy a new one?

Google Pixel Tablet: electrical connector for front sensor cable came off board-how to put

When reconnecting the front sensor cable, step 23 Google Pixel Tablet Screen Replacement, the white connector came off the board. I've been trying to get the pins on the connector to slide back into the board without success. It keeps sliding on top of the gold prongs that come out of the board. I see a space with prongs between the silver board and white connector in your image. https://guide-images.cdn.ifixit.com/igi/...

How was the connector affixed to the board?

Better yet what can I do to repair it? And why do you think the connector wouldn't slide into the prongs as they appear to do in the image. I've included a pic of the situation.

Thanks - jim

Google Pixel Tablet: Adaptive brightness sensor not working after replacing broken screen

While installing my replacement screen, I damaged the light sensor cable. With no instructions to follow, I swapped in the good cable from the broken screen. The connection seemed to be straightforward, but the sensor isn't functioning now.

If this cable is replaceable, clear instructions (and a replacement part option) would be helpful.

As an aside, reconnecting the screen cables is much more challenging than the instructions suggest (only describes as following the screen removal process in reverse, btw). In particular, a nice-to-have would be alternative guidance for left handed people, given the feasibility is directly impacted by the reconnection sequence.

Google Pixel C: Pixel C is booting into waiting for fastboot command

Dear all,

I try to reset my google tablet Pixel C to the factory settings because I forgot my screen code.

I manage with the power on/off button and the sound up/down pushing for several seconds to manage to arrive to the screen which allow to go to Reboot into Android Recovery.

Once I go to this option I have the "No command" android screen.

I manage to escape this scree by pressing again the "up" button and the "On" one, but then I get this "Waiting for fastboot command...."

And I'm stuck here. Completely blocked.

My tablet is:

Google Smaug

HW VERSION: 5

BOOTLOADER VERSION: Google_Smaug.7900.27.0

Loock State: Locked

Google Pixel Slate: What solutions are you using for screen adhesive?

Seems like an easy device to get into, but I don't see any pre-cut adhesive for re-assembly available anywhere. So I am wondering what people have been going with. Just manually cutting strips off a roll? Does anyone actually use that B-7000 glue on devices like this?

I always cut up pieces of 1 or 2mm wide double-sided tape on my Pixel C, that works great but it's an annoying pain in the butt that takes forever.

I picked up a pair of Slates, one really sweet m3 that got into my hands with 14 cycles showing on battery. The other is i7 128GB that's been a bit dented and beat up, so plan is to open em both an swap the faster board into the nicer tablet. I like to have some idea of what I need to have on hand before I open them up.

So many people hate this tablet that you can't even find parts listed anywhere other than the questionable Amazon battery. I am hoping it's a simple one to one swap between motherboards but the only teardown I can find is this marginal one on iFixit.

Google Pixel Slate: When off for few hours it won't turn on unless I plug in charger twice

When my pixel slate is off for a few hours it won’t turn on when I press the power button (The power button works when it is off for less then a few hours). To turn it on I have to plug the charger in twice. When I first plug in the charger the charging light doesn't turns on and then when I plug it in again the charger light turns on then blinks once then stays on and then the power automatically turns on as the tablet starts up

Troubleshooting

I can take my charger out of the tablet at this point as the tablet will keep running. It only needs my charger to turn on when the tablet has been turned off for a few hours otherwise everything works as normal (by normal I mean the charging light turns on and stays on upon the first plug in and the power button turns on the computer just fine without the charger).

I contacted the google pixel slate support and they got me to do a hard reset and then a battery test and we found that the battery works fine and the problem still persisted. That’s all they could do though (warranty is expired)

I would like to fix this. Any help would be appreciated.
