Google Pixel Watch 4: Why repairable but not OTA flashable?

Its great the watch is repairable until a system update fails and bricks the watch. You can't even reflash an update due to no usb connection or visible pogo pins like older pixel watches.

Google Pixel Watch 4: Actual Screen Replacement Cost

Is there any note on how much the screen itself will cost if I were to repair the watch on my own? I think it's great that it's a lot more repairable, but I haven't been able to find anything about the actual cost for the part.

Google Pixel Watch 4: Will genuine parts be available to buy outside US?

Asking from Australia. Will PW4 parts become available to purchase through platforms like iFixit etc?

Am concerned the improved repairability is wasted on markets other than the US. The Google store states parts/services will not be available after purchasing the watch. And with past pixel watches being so irreparable there's no precedent.
