Google Pixel 7a: I just changed the Battery, power button and vol and Flash not working

(Pixel 7a) I dont care about the Flash. But i need the power button and volume buttons to work. I did everything according to the manual. I cant restart the device. I used repair mode to fix the issue but it didnt work. What other techniques could i try to fix this

Hi everyone,

I've broken my Pixel 7a display and ordered a replacement screen from ifixit. After following the replacement guide, the screen stays black. I know that the device turns on since it vibrates when long pressing the power button. Even after force rebooting via power + volume up the display still stays black.

Now, I'm not sure if I have done something wrong during repair or if the replacement part is defect. I did use a heat gun, but damaged the original display during disassembly further, so while the original screen now also stays black I don't think I can use that to narrow down where the issue is.

Is there anything else I can do to diagnose the issue? Or is the replacement screen simply broken?

Google Pixel 7a: Glass cracked but screen is working fine.

So my new pixel 7A fall from scooter mount stand and it's glass was shattered from top left part but the screen is still working perfectly and so is indisplay finger print scanner.

The only thing I noticed is that the front camera is showing bit white shade in it's view finder maybe due to visible crack lines infront of it

I want to know what are my options now? Do I need to replace whole display or is it possible to replace front glass only.

I accidently got my phone wet and the screen began showing artifacts, started flickering and now it's completely black. Within an hour or so after getting wet. The phone responds with vibrations/buttons/sounds but the screen is black.

I bought the ifixit pro kit and disassembled the phone but I couldnt see any corrosion or signs of water.

How do I diagnose if it's just the bad screen? Is it worth taking the chance of replacing only the screen?

Hi everyone,

I bought the repair Kit for the pixel 7a and followed all instructions from ifixit for the replacement. Also configured the fingerprint sensor again. It seems that the proximity sensor is not working anymore. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Do i need to install the sensor again? Same as the fingerprint sensor?

Google Pixel 7a: Screen adhesive re-use

Just completed a glass/screen repair on a Pixel 7a, but got a smudge on the front camera lens during the process. Sadly, didn't notice until after reassembly was complete. Can I re-open the front, clean the lens, and re-close without replacing the perimeter adhesive, or do I need to clean up and use new glue?

Hi - I have a pixel 7a and the standard ifixit kit with suction cap and picks. I have heated up the iOpener several times in microwave, left it on screen of phone several times and tried different sides. However, even with quite a fair amount of force it wont budge. I am not sure what else to try - the pick feels too big for the task?

Got a swelling battery, was able to remove it with your tutorial before it gets worse, then wanted to buy a replacement one but you're out of stock.

Do you know if you'll be able to restock or is itgoing to be a long time shortage. Seems a stupid question but in France google dont do the battery replacement, and i dont know if it's due to a mass shortage.

Google Pixel 7a: Screen displaying, but touch dose not work.

Hi ,

My screen is displaying fine, but touch is not working. It happend after the phone fell an landed flat on the screen, it dident even crack the glass. A small protion of the low end of the screen is working. Is it the screen itself that needs replacement or is it connector issue / motherboard issue?

Google Pixel 7a: Pixel 7a SIM card stopped working

I have a Pixel 7a, which was working great. One day, my eSIM was not detected anymore. Trying to figure what happened (did some troubleshooting, reboots), the standard SIM also stopped getting detected.

Note that everything else works perfectly on the phone. I've tried already:

Testing the SIM on another device -> Worked fine
Testing a second SIM on pixel device -> Also not working
Clean SIM
Reset Network settings

Google Pixel 7a: Pixel 7A replacement Battery tab appears to be in the wrong spot

While attempting to install my new pixel 7A battery I noticed the battery would not fit due to the tab being under the battery rather than over it when inserting it into the battery slot. Comparing the old (left) and new (right) batteries the new one appears to have the tab orientation flipped and so is not the same fit/function as the old one. Would appreciate if someone could sanity check if this appears to be a manufacturing defect as it seems like the new battery is not installable in the phone. The model # for both batteries matches as GP5JE.

Google Pixel 7a: Ghost Touch after battery replacement Pixel 7a

After replacing the battery in my Pixel 7a, i turn the phone back on, and there's a severe ghost touch issue (the screen reads touch that doesn't happen). I used isopropyl alcohol to clean up the phone, because the back cover popped off due to the old battery swelling severely. What can i do to stop the ghost touch?

Google Pixel 7a: Screen not working after replacement phone on during replacement

Not 100% sure the phone was on but not sure why else I would have issues and phone vibrated once I plugged in screen replacement pin. I wasn't touching any buttons, screen doesn't work, but I can tell if phone is on by plugging it in to see if it vibrates. Instructions online not clear about shutdown without restart so I think I shut it off and redid connection and still not working. I've tried multiple times, but I can't tell if it's off or not, or if that's even the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
