Google Pixel 7: Heat build up after screen replacement

I recently completed a screen replacement on a Google Pixel 7 (genuine and bought from iFixit). While the display functions perfectly, I've noticed some heat buildup near the screen connector during use. I confirmed the connector was securely seated before applying the adhesive and sealing the device. I never really noticed any heat buildup while using my old screen, perhaps because I'm using a phone case. Should I be worried about the heat? Thanks and appreciate any guidance on this.

Google Pixel 7: Google Pixel 7 battery question mark, after battery replacement.

I recently replaced my battery in my pixel, afterwards it showed it was 50% charged. I then drained the battery to do a calibration now it is not charging. When charging it shows a question mark battery icon and drains super quickly. It was having this problem before I replaced the battery. Could this be a motherboard issue or a battery connector problem?

Google Pixel 7: Water condensation on camera lenses after water spillage

I have a 2 year old Pixel 7, and I accidentally spilled some water on it, but I wiped it off the phone with a cloth and didn't think much of it, however just a couple hours later I started noticing that there was a significant amount of water condensation primarily under the display on the selfie camera, and a little bit on the back set of cameras, which was really surprising, because this phone is IP68 water resistant rated, and this is not the first time its come in contact with water unintentionally, and I've never had this problem before in the time I've owned it.

I'm assuming its safe to conclude the water resistant seal is broken, but the LDI (liquid damage indicator) in the SIM card slot is not indicating water exposure. The phone itself is working perfectly, except of course the blurry cameras. I've still decided to turn it off to prevent damage (although a few hours after I noticed the condensation; it was working well before I turned it off).

Should I just wait for the condensation to clear and/or should I take it to a repair shop and get it checked out?

Is is true that even if the condensation clears there could still be water inside, corroding the mainboard over time? (even though the LDI doesn't indicate water exposure)

Is there any way to restore the water resistant seal?

Google Pixel 7: Pixel 7 vibrates only briefly after display replacement

After I replaced the display and then switched on the mobile phone without gluing the display, it started up briefly and the display showed the start screen. A few seconds later, the display suddenly went black. I realised that the battery was empty, so I connected a charging cable.

I tried again shortly afterwards, but this time the display remained black. The Pixel 7 only vibrates very briefly.

What could that be? How can I interpret this vibration?

My mobile phone had water damage and when I tried to open it to clean the circuit board, the display cracked.

I removed the circuit board, cleaned it with isopropanol and then reassembled it. The water had only penetrated a tiny bit at the top of the camera module. I don't think the battery was damaged, but can I rule that out somehow?

Many thanks in advance.

Google Pixel 7: Google Pixel 7 Won’t Charge After Battery Replacement

Update - If I boot the phone into fastboot mode, it will not shut down when plugged in and it charges at around 10w. Because it charges in fastboot mode, I would assume the charging circuit isn't the problem and it's software related.

Video of behavior.

I installed a brand new genuine Google battery in this Pixel 7, following iFixit’s recommended steps: drain to 0%, charge to 100%, repeat. After draining it to 0%, the phone now won’t charge at all.

In this video, I show what happens when I plug it in—the wattage briefly ramps up, then drops to 0.4W, which isn’t enough to charge the phone.

I’ve tried multiple PD power supplies (Google, MacBook, and others), different cables, and every button combo I could think of (power, power + volume down, etc.)—no luck.

The phone is in like-new condition and I used an official Google battery. Any ideas on what to try next? I’d really appreciate your help!

Google Pixel 7: Replacement screen: touch works but no display

Context: I believe that there may have been water damage but I am not sure as the phone was both dropped and splashed but not submerged when I broke it. When I broke the screen initially, only touch was not working where it was registering phantom touches and parts of the touch screen would not register my own touches. It had full display output at the beginning. Then gradually over the course of a few days the output deteriorated as parts of the output got discoloured and then there was only a few pixels, showing only in blue, and then no output at all as it is now.

So I got the repair kit from iFixit and followed the guide to disconnect the old screen.

After connecting the new screen to test it before applying the new adhesive, I powered on the phone and nothing showed up, but it would respond to touch. The phone was definitely on as I got vibrations and sound. I could even sign in by remembering where the keys are located on the screen and see that it was fully functional by connecting with adb and using scrcpy.

I'm not sure where to go from here because I have no idea whether it's the replacement screen that doesn't work or if the output is just completely broken. Should I be asking iFixit for a replacement for the screen?

I got the kit and replaced the damaged screen (total noob)

not blaming anyone but me. I replaced a damage screen and it worked ok for a week. Now some times it says can't use fingerprint sensor see repair station.

I started looking for things and some said you didn't fully engage the ribbon cable..I had no idea how hard to press that in.

Others said did you replace these

Google Pixel 7 Black Silicone Pad

Google Pixel 7 Graphite Sheet

there was no mention of these in the videos and not in kit and have no idea what they do.

I will order another adhesive sheet and take it apart again. Could it be the connector on the ribbon cable just popped back out?

any thing else I need to look at or do, please just let me know

Google Pixel 7: Pixel 7 Back Glass Replacement Part

Where can I purchase the bottom back glass cover for my pixel 7? I am referring to the back bottom glass cover, not the camera bump or top glass strip. I contacted ifixit. They do not carry the part. They suggested checking Amazon or eBay. The back glass covers I found there have bad reviews. Some say they received plastic even though it advertised glass. Others say it did not fit correctly and left large gaps. Has anyone been able to find a good back glass replacement part that fits the Pixel 7 correctly? If allowed, a link would be great. Thanks in advance!!

Google Pixel 7: Pixel 7 Aluminum Frame damage repair guide

Hello iFixit Community,

I recently dropped my Pixel 7 phone accidentally, and unfortunately, a small piece of the frame in the bottom left corner, very close to the screen, has broken off. It's a tiny chip, but I'm concerned about the structural integrity of the device and whether it can be repaired.

The damage appears to be limited to the frame or casing of the phone, rather than the screen itself. There are no cracks on the screen, just this small missing piece on the frame.

I'm unsure if this type of damage is repairable, and if so, what steps would be involved in fixing it. I'm hoping to get some advice on whether it's possible to repair the frame damage and what the best course of action would be.

Any guidance or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help!
