Google Pixel 6a: Pixel 6A Dead in Morning after overnight charging

Problem: After an overnight charging of a functional device, I woke up to learn that my phone is not responding at all. Dark Screen. After I pressed the power button or connect to the charger, there is no sign of life.

Google's response was to take it to the local Ubreakifix, authorized repair center. The diagnosis from the repair center was no warranty coverage, battery swap did not fix the issue, return the phone at no charge.

After getting the phone back, observing/realizing that it has an audio ding to the charger connection, which was not there before. Screen is still dark and a short double haptic response when I hold the power button. No images available as teh screen is still dark.

Looking at the experts here to advise on potential failure modes and solutions, repair approaches to help with.

thanks in advance, best regards.

Google Pixel 6a: My Pixel 6a got water damage and after drying the screen is glitched.

Basically my parents told me to give my little brother my phone to entertain him in the car but when we got home he thought it would be funny to flush it in the toilet. It worked at first I powered offand let it dry but the screen is green and purple glitched now at the top with black nothing at the bottom. I can get it replaced fairly easily but theres quite a few photos I would like to get back. It's locked tho so I can't enter my password. Is there anyway to enter the password without the screen or otherwise recover my photos while locked. I legit do not care about anything except file recovery.

Google Pixel 6a: What's the distinction between GB17L and other models?

I've got a refurbished 6a GB17L (the Japan model), which is part of the batch of bad batteries. It seems like nobody is willing to claim that the GB17L has a battery that's replaceable. Google wouldn't do the repair themselves, and the battery kit from iFixit is not compatible with the GB17L.

What's the distinction? Does anybody know if there is a different battery model used in this phone?

Google Pixel 6a: Proximity sensor not found after replacing a water damaged display

After replacing a display with water damage, the proximity and light sensors are not working any more. Device Info HW and Proximity Test apps say no sensor found for both proximity and light. I made sure that the rubber seal was on the sensor before glueing the display. Unfortunately, I did not test the proximity sensor before glueing the display so I can't easily double-check. There seem to be no other issues (front and both rear cameras, speakers, microphone, vibration, calibrated fingerprint sensor and other sensors work fine). Does anyone have any idea what I can try?

Google Pixel 6a: fingerprint reader not working after screen replacement

I replaced the screen using the official ifixit screen with the integrated fingerprint reader.

after replacing the screen, the fingerprint function was not working.

if I try to enroll a new fingerprint, I get a prompt saying the phone can't use the fingerprint sensor and to take it for repair. it also included a link to "http://g.co/pixel/fingerprintunlock" which just redirects to google's docs on using the fingerprint reader.

I tried this tool: https://pixelrepair.withgoogle.com/ and after rebooting, I no longer get the prompt and can get to the enroll fingerprint stage, but it still fails to read my fingerprint; i get 'couldn't process fingerprint' no matter what finger or direction i press.

any assistance or insight would be appreciated.

Google Pixel 6a: display seperated from the frame with the hooks

I was replacing my battery on my Pixel 6a. But while pushing on the vacuum cup the complete display was separated from the frame with the hooks:

it seems that the frame with the hooks that will fit into the complete frame is also glued.

https://guide-images.cdn.ifixit.com/igi/...

So the display is removed on the red and orange.

Can I fix it, or do I need to order a new display?

I have found this: https://4phones.eu/products/google-pixel... but I don't find any shop that sell the frame with the hooks or how to glue the display to the frame with the hooks :(

Google Pixel 6a: Battery stuck at 50% or unknown after iFixit replacement

Last week I bought a new battery kit from iFixit. I completed the replacement last night, charged it overnight however the battery died within minutes after unplugging the battery as it only showed it had 1% charge.

Then I plugged the battery back in, now showing 50% charge immediately. I left it to charge, then completed a hard reset and the battery shows unknown battery percentage.

There is also an error on the android battery page: Problem reading the battery meter.

Google Pixel 6a: Google Pixel 6a screen not displaying

Purchased a Google Pixel 6a off Swappa.com for my son. Worked fine from the startup. About a week in, the screen locked up, it wouldn't respond to anything, you could see it, but would't respond to touches. A hard reset took care of that issue. A week later my son was at work, dropped the phone. Was able to use the phone after the drop, checked his school grades/assignments just fine. Later the screen would not display any longer. Tried to do a hard reset multiple times, but the screen isn't displaying anything. Clicking on the power button, can feel a slight vibration. Family Link is installed, but the option to play a sound on the phone doesn't respond. I don't know the phone needs to be logged in or not. Have NOT tried to connect to computer to see if it will allow it or not

I'm looking at fixing this phone, but could something come "loose" inside that would cause the display to not work? Do I need to get a new display? Is there a way to test the screen?

Thanks.
