Google Pixel 6: Pixel 6: Can't use fingerprint after screen replacement.

So I just replaced my Pixel 6's screen via the IFixIt repair kit (btw, this was way easier than expected, so that's a win). However, I can no longer use the fingerprint reader.

If I go to set it up I get an error message: "Can't use fingerprint sensor. Visit a repair provider or g.co/pixel/fingerprintunlock".

That website was seemingly irrelevant and definitely unhelpful :).

Google Pixel 6: How to calibrate the fingerprint sensor?

Hi,

I replaced my pixel 6 display, and went on to calibrate the fingerprint sensor with the pixel repair page. When the page starts downloading the software, it says “couldn't find the unique software for this device” and cancels the download. Am I doing something wrong? Any ideas on how I can get the fingerprint sensor working again?

Thank you in advance!

P S. I tried to swap the old fingerprint sensor with the new one, but I broke(cracked) the old one trying to remove it. So it's not an option for me.

Google Pixel 6: Replaced Screen, new screen won't turn on.

Hey I just replaced the screen on my Pixel 6. It fell and broke the LCD underneath the glass and screen protector, but now that I've got the new one in place, it doesn't power on at all.

The phone buzzes like it's on, like when it gets plugged in to charge

I've tried all the youtube suggestions as far as hard resetting it.

But nothing works, it's like the phone isn't recognizing the screen at all.

When I broke it I did take the old screen off and let it sit unattached for a few days. if that matters idk.

I also tried disconnecting the Battery for a few minutes to see if that would change anything, and it didn't.

Any Suggestions? Thanks

Google Pixel 6: Pixel 6 touch screen less precise after replacement

I have had my Pixel 6 screen replaced after a big crack.

After finally fixing the fingerprint sensor issue, I still find myself with a major problem:

The touch screen is less "precise" when typing fast. Namely, when I am writing fast and touch the screen in two points almost simultaneously, it interprets it as a "swipe", and therefore misses the first of the two touches.

This had never happened before the change. Is this a known issue, or could it be a problem with the new screen itself?

Thanks!

Google Pixel 6: Display does not respond to touch

Phone was dropped, then the touchscreen became intermittently non-responsive. Applying pressure to the sides of the device or providing some flex would get touch functionality to restore for a while. Eventually even this stopped working and the touch functionality stopped working entirely although the display itself is still perfect.

I figured this must be a screen issue though I dont understand why only touch would fail and not display; so I ordered a replacement screen and hooked it up to test but again have the same issue, display works perfect with no touch input being accepted. I inspected the connector/board for the display and don't see anything wrong (although I dont have magnification). I cleaned the board side of the connector with 90% IPA though it made no difference.

Anyone have an idea of what to look for? I understand I will most likely need a new phone at this point but I'm still interested in what went wrong.

Google Pixel 6: Is it normal for a battery to smell like acetone?

A couple of weeks ago my Pixel 6 (~3 years old) started giving off an acetone smell, and based on some Googling, I suspected it might be a battery issue. Yesterday, I replaced the battery using the kit from iFixit, and noticed that the replacement battery gave off a similar smell, though not quite as strong. Nothing appeared to be wrong with the replacement (no visible damage or swelling). Is it normal for them to have a bit of an odor?

Google Pixel 6: Screen unresponsive after light rain

My Google Pixel 6 was exposed to light rain. After I dried it the screen became erratic. It slowly got worse and although looks 100% is now no longer responding to any touch.

- I have rebooted
- Removed the screen
- Tried safe mode.

I don't mind buying and fitting a new screen, but I need to know if there could be anything else that would potentially stop a screen responding before I purchase and fit.
Google Pixel 6: Phone dead / rebooting after a small drop

Hello everyone,

my phone dropped about 40cm off of my couch and has been behaving very strangely since. Immediately after the drop the phone died. Its screen turned black and it wouldn’t turn back on. When it’s attached to a charger via cable it shows the colorful google logo and then just bootloops. If you hold a button during this process the phone will do nothing. When it’s on a wireless charger it shows the colorful google logo, shows that it’s charging and the battery percentage, and then it turns off. I’m honestly puzzled as to what’s going on with my device. Any advice would be appreciated.

After I connected it to USB, Google logo appeared on the screen, blinked 3 times and it booted normally. The second I disconnect USB, it goes black and unresponsive again.

I assume there's no power output from the battery?
When the phone is on (with USB), I can see the battery charge and charging icon, so it's not completely disconnected.

1.
Google Pixel 6: Extremely dim screen after replacement

Hello!

I replaced the display assembly and battery on my Pixel 6 today, and after putting it back together, the display is extremely dim. It almost looks like a dead backlight on an LCD screen. Touch works fine, battery works fine, but it's extremely dim. I tried replacing the old display (I believe only the glass was cracked), but it had the same issues. What could be the possible cause of this? Could it be caused by the battery replacement? Did I scratch something on the connector?
