Google Pixel 4a: How to safely remove replacement screen from packaging

I got a new replacement screen for the Pixel 4a from iFixit. I had removed it from the packaging without breaking it.

The plastic packaging is super sturdy which of course is great. However, I was very uncomfortable removing the screen from it.

On the paper on the outside of the package it says "Pull here to open" but when it is about removing the actual 100 $ brand new screen I feel the packaging is just like "You'll figure it out! ;)"

How am I supposed to pop it out the most safe way? When I was testing it out with my old broken screen I did in fact add another crack to the panel.

Google Pixel 4a: Replaced display and USB port, now no sound, no microphone, no camera

Hello, I replaced the USB port due to water ingress and in the act I broke the display. I replaced it too, now the device takes a long time to boot (I did not time it but it's more than ten minutes) and no app can use the camera, the microphone or the speaker. No app can play audio - playback stays stuck at 00:00 - and most apps will not play video due to that. Nothing over bluetooth either. Calls will connect but there is no audio for either party. Vibration does not work. Fingerprint reader works. Wifi and data work.

What can be the cause of that? Is there a single point of failure that could cause it?

About the pogo pins on the board that connect to the back shell, are they only grounding points (except for the obvious parts like the NFC antenna)?

What is the bottom antenna wire for? Mine is pinched and I am wondering if it could be at cause.

Google Pixel 4a: Brand new phone battery. Not turning on at all.

So i had to replace my phones battery because it began to swell, I got myself a kit and the new battery arrived today. I followed a guide to take apart the phone without a hitch, and removed the old battery and replaced the new one. Put my phone back together and go to try and turn on the phone and nothing. No vibration, no screen light up.

I'm quite confused because the battery is brand new with no damage to the connectors or anything, I plug the phone in to charge it to see if maybe it needs juice or something and it gets warm but still nothing. I'm tempted to buy a new phone battery assuming the one I received is defective, but I wonder if I should just wait and see if the phone eventually turns on. I would absolutely love some expert advice or input. Thank you!

Google Pixel 4a: Phone will not power on after battery replacement

Received and installed new battery from iFixit on Google Pixel 4a and it will not power on. Screen and all cables do not appear to be damaged. I would try the old battery again but I used new adhesive strips on the new battery. Has anyone else run into this and able to get it figured out without additional new parts? I have repaired several new phones over the years successfully with the most recent a Pixel 6 Pro and this issue is a first for me.

Google Pixel 4a: How to replace side buttons of the Pixel 4a?

I've recently been having issues with the side-buttons. Things like volume up being maxed out without being pressed, or the power button double clicking (or more). I assume this is an issue with the side buttons, but I don't see a guide or parts to do the repair on iFixit.

Google Pixel 4a: Replacement screen - just faint white flashing line at top of screen

I just replaced the screen on my Pixel 4a. I feel the haptic vibration when I plug the charger in. I left it charging for 30 minutes. I then unplugged the charger and plugged it back in. I don't get the charging icon. I see a faint white line flashing at the top of the screen. You can barely see it. The phone was thrown hard on the pavement when I was recovering balance after stepping into broken pavement. There was no visible damage to the screen but the phone screen was blank with faint green flashes.

It appeared to be working such as ringing when called. I had to discharge the battery in order to turn it off to swap out to another phone. I probably should have plugged it in a month ago after but instead the phone has been sitting with a dead battery for a month. Perhaps the impact somehow did something to the motherboard? Once I've gotten some feedback I guess I'll further disassemble the phone.

Google Pixel 4a: My new replacement screen doesn't work

Hey, second time replacing this screen. The first time worked fine. This time, all normal procedures were followed to remove and reinstall.

The new screen doesn't work at all, basically. I checked whether the issue was with the phone itself by reinstalling the old (cracked) screen, which lit up straight away, no problem at all. Removed this and re-installed the new screen. Still nothing.

There is no visible damage on the new screen or anything that would suggest something is the matter with it, the ribbon and connectors look as new.

Any feedback appreciated, thanks!

Hi, i am having problem with my Google Pixel 4a phone, microphone does not work during speakerphone calls in: Messenger, Whatsapp, default caller app - my recipient does not hear me. When I switch to earpiece there is no problem - everything working fine. Audio is also recording fine both on recorder as well as when making video with camera.

I tried the factory reset, reflashing a phone, and also compressed air to both mics - top and bottom. I have even sent it to service - they have tried to switch top mic from another device however problem still persists. :(
