Google Pixel 4: No SIM detected all of a sudden

I've tried the basic troubleshooting for this; this SIM works fine in other phones. Cleaning the SIM had no effect. Phone hard reset, no effect. Shimming the SIM card, no effect. Nothing out of the ordinary has happened to this phone; it was left on a countertop working fine after having just made a phone call, then a few hours later, it reports that there's no SIM installed.

Also tried other SIMs - no SIM is recognized in this phone. Network options also reset to no effect.

Google Pixel 4: WI-FI cutting out, when I turn on 4g along with WI-FI it works

HI all,

On my Google Pixel I have this issue where my WI-FI signal seems to cut out sometimes. It still shows that its connected to WI-FI but pictures/websites won’t load in for a few seconds. This happens a few times per day and not just at home.

I initially thought it could be some IP issue, but I checked and my IP lease time is set to 8 hours.

There’s also an option with the Pixel 4 that randomises your MAC adress, I used it with and without a random MAC.

I’m kind of out of ideas at this point, I’m hoping someone has an answer for me.

Cheers,

Niels

Edit: I forgot to mention that when I turn on 4G, so with wifi still turned on the page/picture seems to load in instantly. When I turn off 4g after it loading in it seems to work perfectly again.

Google Pixel 4: My pixel 4 wifi will not connect unless I'm close to the router

Hello

I changed the screen with the body to my pixel 4 because the original screen broke. After I fixed that the phone won't connect to wifi. I noticed the the coaxial cable on the phone was damaged so I bought galaxy s8 cable from ifixit, because they didn't have pixel 4 cable. I replaced it but the problem remained the same. I did all the troubleshooting steps online and still didn't fix the problem. Any suggestions to how I can fix the issue?

Google Pixel 4: I ordered a screen and I beleive it's defective

I recently ordered a new screen because my previous one was damaged. When I finally got around to installing it, there was a green line and a black splotch at the top of the screen. I am not sure how this happened but seeing as it was like this imediatly upon installing it, I'd assume it would be a dead pixel or group of dead pixels. I don't know the procedure or if this is grounds for a return, I'd like to know if I can fix it or if I'll need to return this one and / or order a new one. Thank you in advance! :)

Google Pixel 4: pixel 4 - what part likely broken?

i have an old pixel 4 that i have used as a secondary phone, so i don't always use it. i left it on a low wattage wireless charger for several days and came back to it completely bricked. I've left it for similar or longer before with no problems.

The phone doesn't do anything at all. pressing the button does nothing. no failed boot, or any activity at all. neither wireless nor wired charging does anything. I've tried leaving it unplugged for an extended period to let the battery drain then plugging it in again and still nothing.

i was going to just recycle it but then i thought it's a good opportunity to practice repairing it. but I'm not sure what is the most likely part is the fault.

realistically I'm only going to try it once, if it's not fixed I'm not going to try other parts since i don't actually need to fix it, just using it as practice. but it's still nice if i do manage to fix it.

so i want to maximize the chance that i get my one shot right, and order the part that is most likely to be the culprit.

my first guess is that it's a power issue, both because of me leaving it on charging for periods at a time, and also because it having no activity whatsoever. and also it's probably the best likelihood-to-cost ratio

but i see that ifixit sells both the battery and the usb charging board. i can't decide between the two. on one hand, neither wired nor wireless charges, which suggest something common between the two. on the other hand, if it's only the battery i would expect that it at least boots up while plugged in and just doesn't charge up.

or maybe it's neither of those at all?

anyone have suggestions about the most likely part that is broken in this scenario?

thanks!!!

Replacing the battery on a pixel 4 and as I removed the very swollen and sticky old battery I discovered a white wire underneath the battery that is loose on one end. Did this break from somewhere or is it an antenna or something that is only attached at one end?

I scratched/nicked the black (graphite adhesive) layer on inside of the back cover of a Pixel 4. Is there anything that I can use to cover or seal the nick (like a sealant, paint, or film) to reseal the nick? Does it need to be repaired

Google Pixel 4: Power Management IC replacement

My phone just turned off one day and didn’t turn on. I got it checked out and it seems that it is still receiving power but not as it should do it won’t turn on. Replacing the battery and transferring the mother Moses to another phone didn’t work. The local technician checked the motherboard for any shorts in the circuit and it seems like there are not any. And it looks like it may be an issue with the power management IC. I have a lot of data on there in the form of signal messages, multiple browsers with tons of open tabs, bookmarks and etc. that do not get backed up. I really need to the phone to turn back on so that I can transfer my data.

Does anyone know what the process would be to replace the power management IC? Or where I would be able to get a replacement? Also has anyone had experience with this happening and it being repaired?
