Google Pixel 4: How to repair nick in back cover coating (Pixel 4)

I scratched/nicked the black (graphite adhesive) layer on inside of the back cover of a Pixel 4. Is there anything that I can use to cover or seal the nick (like a sealant, paint, or film) to reseal the nick? Does it need to be repaired

(The scratch looks as if I made a fine cut with an x-acto knife along/near the edge of the cover; it looks like the edge of the front cover cut it, when I temporarily re-assembled the phone [without the adhesive]).

Google Pixel 4: Power Management IC replacement

My phone just turned off one day and didn’t turn on. I got it checked out and it seems that it is still receiving power but not as it should do it won’t turn on. Replacing the battery and transferring the mother Moses to another phone didn’t work. The local technician checked the motherboard for any shorts in the circuit and it seems like there are not any. And it looks like it may be an issue with the power management IC. I have a lot of data on there in the form of signal messages, multiple browsers with tons of open tabs, bookmarks and etc. that do not get backed up. I really need to the phone to turn back on so that I can transfer my data.

Does anyone know what the process would be to replace the power management IC? Or where I would be able to get a replacement? Also has anyone had experience with this happening and it being repaired?

Thanks

Google Pixel 4: pixel 4 - what part likely broken?

i have an old pixel 4 that i have used as a secondary phone, so i don't always use it. i left it on a low wattage wireless charger for several days and came back to it completely bricked. I've left it for similar or longer before with no problems.

The phone doesn't do anything at all. pressing the button does nothing. no failed boot, or any activity at all. neither wireless nor wired charging does anything. I've tried leaving it unplugged for an extended period to let the battery drain then plugging it in again and still nothing.

i was going to just recycle it but then i thought it's a good opportunity to practice repairing it. but I'm not sure what is the most likely part is the fault.

realistically I'm only going to try it once, if it's not fixed I'm not going to try other parts since i don't actually need to fix it, just using it as practice. but it's still nice if i do manage to fix it.

so i want to maximize the chance that i get my one shot right, and order the part that is most likely to be the culprit.

my first guess is that it's a power issue, both because of me leaving it on charging for periods at a time, and also because it having no activity whatsoever. and also it's probably the best likelihood-to-cost ratio

but i see that ifixit sells both the battery and the usb charging board. i can't decide between the two. on one hand, neither wired nor wireless charges, which suggest something common between the two. on the other hand, if it's only the battery i would expect that it at least boots up while plugged in and just doesn't charge up.

or maybe it's neither of those at all?

anyone have suggestions about the most likely part that is broken in this scenario?

thanks!!!

Google Pixel 4: After dropping phone into water, phone will charge but won't turn on,

I had previously fixed my loudspeaker and changed the battery in my pixel 4 and everything went well and working just fine. Then yesterday, it accidentally fell into the sink while the faucet was on. I quickly took it out of the sink and powered it off. I then dried the outside and knew that I would have to open up the phone again to make sure there was no water in the phone. So I opened it up again, and decided to take out everything, all the parts that I could take out of the chassis, and when I did that I started to use my heat gun, at it's lowest temperature(100 C(o)) and highest fan speed so that the parts were all dry and that no matter if it was wet or not. When I completed that and all was said and done, I carefully started to put it all back together. While trying to put it back together I found that the 2 camera module for the rear, I saw that there were a few pins that were bent and I used a very small magnifying glass and carefully tried to bend them back but it was too late because there were no longer pins to move. But I decided to just plug it back in and if the cameras don't work that is fine, and so I put the rest of the parts back in with no problems. I closed the case up and went to power it on by pressing the power button, however it wouldn't turn on. So I plugged it in to the power charger and I saw the power of the battery on the screen but not the phone. I tried again to power it up but still nothing. That's why I'm on here now, How can I find a way to turn the phone back on or what needs fixed to be able do so?

Google Pixel 4: Replaced battery, but now wireless charging isn't working properly

Hi,

This weekend I swapped out the battery in my Pixel 4, which went pretty smoothly. I don't think I damaged anything internal in the process. However, since then I have noticed that wireless charging isn't working properly.

When placed on the charging pad, the phone starts to charge just fine. But then a few minutes or even an hour later, the charging pad is no longer recognised.

If I take the phone off the pad and place it back on, nothing happens. However, if I take it off the pad and squeeeeze it, as if I'm forcing the back of the device to stick better to its adhesive, I can put it back on the pad and it will be recognised again for a few minutes. As the wireless charging coil is attached to the back of the glass I don't see why this should help, but it does.

Does anyone have an idea of why this would happen - did I damage something internal without realising, or fail to put something back properly?

Thanks in advance for any help.

HI all,

On my Google Pixel I have this issue where my WI-FI signal seems to cut out sometimes. It still shows that its connected to WI-FI but pictures/websites won’t load in for a few seconds. This happens a few times per day and not just at home.

I initially thought it could be some IP issue, but I checked and my IP lease time is set to 8 hours.

There’s also an option with the Pixel 4 that randomises your MAC adress, I used it with and without a random MAC.

I’m kind of out of ideas at this point, I’m hoping someone has an answer for me.

Cheers,

Niels

Edit: I forgot to mention that when I turn on 4G, so with wifi still turned on the page/picture seems to load in instantly. When I turn off 4g after it loading in it seems to work perfectly again.
