After replacing a Pixel 3a screen, the blacks in the image are appearing pixellated. I had the first screen RMA’d and got another one, but the new screen is having the same exact issue (see screenshot below). What might be causing this?

Google Pixel 3a XL: Is the pixel 3a volume flex ribbon cable interchangeable with the 3aXL

Hi guys I accidentally purchased the wrong part for my pixel 3aXL… I bought the pixel 3a volume flex ribbon cable instead of the 3aXL. However, the flex cables look very similar…the buttons are in the exact same placement as well as the circle cut pass-through alignment points…there is a slight difference in the cut outs on the sides… but I don't think it should affect fitment. Does anyone know if these are interchangeable?

Google Pixel 3a XL: Device no longer powers on - Minimal signs of life

My phone unexpectedly died overnight and will not charge.

I've tried a few different troubleshooting steps I found online with no luck.

Held the power + volume buttons

Tried different cables and different power strips (with USB ports)

Left it to charge for longer, repeating the previous steps, etc.

One of the power strips has an indicator light for when a device is plugged in. When I plug in my 3a XL, the light flashes for a split second and then goes out. This happens every time I plug in.

The previous night my phone's battery was at a low percentage. I assume the battery is still healthy, but my phone somehow lost it's ability to charge. I don't recall if my phone began charging when I plugged it in the last time.

If anyone has any insight I'd greatly appreciate it!

Google Pixel 3a XL: After reassembling 3AXL, phone vibrates once but won't turn on

I recently tried to repair my Pixel 3A XL. Originally, the phone wouldn't charge (with a variety of chargers and outlets), but everything else seemed to be in order, so I tried replacing the charging port and battery. After reassembling it, I've been unable to turn the phone on. Strangely, when I press the power button of the phone, it immediately vibrates once, in a way that feels like the haptic feedback you'd get while typing, for example. Afterwards, nothing else happens. All this is after I have left the phone to charge for maybe an hour or so. I've also tried holding the power button down for 30 seconds at a time; nothing happens.

The new parts came from Ifixit, so I trust them. Could it be loose connections between the various ribbon cables? More generally, how can I troubleshoot this?

Follow-up: I'd like to get the phone back to working order, but I'd be willing to render it inoperable if I can grab the data off it, just in case that opens up any options for me.

Google Pixel 3a XL: After waking from sleep, touches always go to top left x=0, y=0

The original screen from my Pixel 3a XL got shattered to the point of no return after a fall. I bought a used phone off eBay which claimed to have a brand-new screen that although it worked, after shutting off it was unresponsive thereafter.

I bought the screen anyways since a screen that works once after a reboot is better than one that doesn't work at all, and the whole phone with the "new screen" included was just $40 so I gave it a shot.

I replaced the screen myself and found the exact same problem, however, I managed to find more information by enabling "Show taps" and "Pointer Location". Now I can see what really is going on (somewhat)

The screen works perfectly fine for as long as I use it after a reboot. After turning it off, whether it is from idleness or just tapping the power button, all single finger touches go to X:0 Y:0. Using more fingers changes the exact position of the cursor:

(x,y)

One finger: (0,0)

Two fingers: (1,0)

Three fingers: (257,0)

Four fingers: (257, 1)

Five fingers: (257, 257)

Sometimes letting go of one of the fingers will make X or Y go to 256 instead of 257, but the point being that no matter where I touch, those are the coordinates that my touches go to depending on the number of fingers after a "wake from sleep" state.

I still have with me the broken LCD from my original screen, and I have a repair store nearby. I was wondering if there's anything simple and cheap that can be done or I could do myself to solve this issue.

Worst case scenario I'll keep the new, somewhat broken screen, and use the phone as a backup device just in case since it works just fine after a fresh boot.

Google Pixel 3a XL: Screen is too dark when turned on

I replaced my original cracked screen with one from ifix it and it worked for 2 - 3 weeks. Now when I turn on the phone, the backlight flashes on very briefly and then off. I am concerned that I may be out $150.00 for a faulty screen.

Would you all recommend that I remove the screen and the connections to make sure a cable has not come loose? It is a pixel 3a xl, and the screens can be a pain to remove and I don’t want to accidently crack the screen on removal and then be at square one.

Google Pixel 3a XL: Microphone on earbuds doesn't work?

I recently got a pair of Skullcandy Ink'd earbuds, and I'm using them for my Google Pixel 3a XL. The mic only seems to work when I go to the camera and select external microphone. The microphone does not work (audio is recorded through the phone's mic) on apps like Snapchat and Instagram. It also doesn't work for Google Assistant. I have not yet tried them with a phone call. The button for controls works perfectly.

I've previously used Samsung AKG wired earbuds with a mic with my pixel, and the mic on those worked perfectly for everything, but I broke those, that's why I'm using the Skullcandy ones.

I don't know if it's a problem with my earbuds or if it's a problem with my phone. If anyone could help, that'd be amazing :)

Google Pixel 3a XL: Might I have damaged the top mic(?) by poking it like a SIM card tray?

I foolishly mistook the hole on top of my new Pixel 3a XL (I think it's a mic?) for the hole to open the SIM card tray, not being careful to check for the actual outline, and poked it once moderately hard. Might I have damaged it by doing so? I've read some phones are designed to prevent damage in this way, but I'm not sure about mine. I'm also not sure how to test it for performance that's deficient compared to what I should expect (i.e., deficiency instead of full failure); any advice for that?
