Google Pixel 3a: Will Not Charge After Battery Replacement

I replaced the display screen and the battery. Everything works great EXCEPT the battery will no longer charge? It is at about 7% and I can't get it to charge. I have checked all the connectors but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

The phone is not recognizing when a usb cable is plugged in and, therefore, does not charge. I have check the usb connector which is good and I'm using known good usb cables.

The phone has always been in excellent condition except for a crack in the glass which is why I replaced. I decided to do the battery while I had it opened up. I can't figure out why changing the battery display would affect the charging?

Google Pixel 3a: vertical lines after replacing battery

After replacing my battery I had a dozen or so vertical green lines on my display. Fearing I had gotten glue that i had dissolved to get out the old one i took it apart and cleaned contacts. Put it back together and most were gone. But there was still a cluster to the right of the display. After a year this has reduced to a single line that i've learned to ignore. Not the first battery I've replaced but the hardest to get out (this one was previously replaced by a professional), hence the alcohol to loosen the glue. What's your best guess as to what I did wrong?

I've just replaced the screen on a pixel 3a but in the process I accidentally dug too far and the power button (and possibly the sound button) no longer works and it won't switch on.

I opened it up and I think I've chipped a little off the circuit board by the power button which could explain it. The case is a little chewed up around the area too.

The new screen works however but I can just no longer switch it on.

I'd like to save it if I can but I will have to see how likely it is and how much it would cost.

Do you think this is fixable?

I've included shots of where I broke the board and where it came off.

It could however be something different but the power button was working fine beforehand.

Google Pixel 3a: Downgrading the Verizon P3a to Android 11? >_<

To clarify, I didn't buy the phone piecemeal; it came with a Pixel 6a, which included this particular phone as part of the deal. I did not know it would be a VZW Pixel, but knowing it's a thing, I ran the IMEI#, and it said: "-VZW" when I got it. Fastboot confirms this too.

That's a red flag I walk away from if there's not another device (like a bootloader unlockable 6a without a SIM lock and can never be locked) to make dealing with it viable. Verizon+Pixel is a deal breaker for me, and a borderline curse word.

I want to use a Verizon P3a 64GB with devices that are pretty picky about the Android build, seemingly fail on newer devices, and are just picky in general. I've had trouble with 2 LG Phoenix devices (AT&T PREPAID unlocked, so they got a few SW updates and run Android 10; rejected due to connection issues and use of MicroUSB). My old Samsung A42 5G (U1, Android 13) also had issues, as well as my Pixel 7 (Google Unlocked, Android 14). None of these worked.

Even my Pixel 6a and Pixel 8 (both run Android 14; the P8 is new to me, but it's a Google unlocked phone without the cursed Verizon bootloader) refuse to connect to this thing. Gah, I think Android 12+ refuses to connect to this device. I give up trying modern phones -_-... I even believe BOTH my iPhone 12 and 15 Pro decided to give me grief.

However, I have two super old Android 10 phones that worked from Motorola, where this idea originated. Since I don't use that Verizon P3a for much of anything (since I can't flash newer software on it), it's forever stuck at Android 12.

As such, I want to try and downgrade it back to Android 11 at the absolute latest patch level for the P3a on 11. I know it will be 4+ years back on patches under 11 5/5/22 on 12, but if it can be downgraded, I can always bring it back up compared to my other legacy devices that are permanently stuck without 4+ years of patches )(4/1/21, 2021 G Play; 6/1/21/G7 Play).

Is there any way to downgrade the phone back to 11, or am I screwed because of the Verizon bootloader? If I can do it, what version do I need?

I may be screwed, given it's a Verizon phone...

Google Pixel 3a: Damaged screen blinking strings of light no real image google pixel 3a

I replaced the battery and charging port on my Google pixel 3a. Phone starts, and I can make a call with my car using bluetooth, but the screen has a minimal number of pixels in string like patterns illuminating. Screen is entirely non usable for touch or visual. I did mildly Crack the screen on disassembling at the bottom edge. Tried resetting the screen to motherboard cable a few times, no change.
Google Pixel 3a: Screen has a display but no touch screen after repair.

Hey I've got a Pixel 3a that touch screen suddenly stopped working. I suspect water damage, it was in my pocket during a pretty bad rain storm and after that the touch screen stopped working.

I replaced the screen with a non-genuine part because that's all I could find at the time, and the same issue persisted. I know it was a not genuine part because the colours are different.

My question is if there's another component on the board that could potentially be broken other than the screen? I was thinking about ordering another screen replacement (since iFixit sells genuine Google parts) but I want to see if there's anything else I can do before I pull the trigger, in case that's the issue.
