Google Pixel 3: Ear speaker ribbon tore

While trying to fix the screen on pixel 3 I ripped the cable off the ear speaker when I took the motherboard out just wondering if anyone has seen that part for sale cause I’ve spent the last three hours trying to find a replacement with little success. I also tried re-soldering the cable back on but no sound still.

Google Pixel 3: Green lines after battery replacement

I just completed iFixit’s Google Pixel 3 Battery Replacement guide. Upon powering my phone back on, I was greeted by the sight of beautiful green vertical lines.

I was wondering where I might have messed up; do any of the steps shown in the aforementionned guide present a risk to the display if done by a poorly skilled technician such as myself?

I ended up using some 99% isopropyl alcohol to loosen the pull tabs on the old battery. Could an excess of that be responsible for my current problem?

Update (03/30/2022)

The problem “evaporated” on it’s own. I guess it was the alcohol, after all…

Hi - followed the instructions for the Pixel 3 charger board replacement, and really thought everything went well (and the USB-C port works again!) but now I have a thick vertical green line going through the display. Anyone ideas what the issue could be? Thanks!

Google Pixel 3: Pixel 3 dead, what will fix it?

My Pixel 3 is completely dead. No light, no vibration, no reaction to any button presses. If I put it on a wireless charger, the charger recognizes it, but then stops charging immediately. If I plug it into a USB-C power meter, it recognizes it's connected but doesn't charge. If I connect it to a computer, it doesn't list it as a newly connected USB device.

I noticed the battery was bulging, so I replaced that with the ifixit replacement. It still is dead.

So I'm wondering what might account for these failures? A bad replacement battery? A bad charging port? A bad motherboard? A cabling issue?

Google Pixel 3: pixel 3 constant battery drain

I recently replaced my 2 year old pixel 3 battery and charge port due to poor battery life and not being able to charge on the google issued usb-c charger (possible water damage).

While both of those issues are fixed now, I’m seeing a crazy amount of battery drain on the tune of 5-10% an hour. It is possible that this was occurring before the replacement, but I just didn’t notice due to the poor battery life.

Even after doing the battery calibration and turning on battery saver, airplane mode, safe mode, factory resetting, etc, I am still seeing constant battery drain per hour. The last test I did was to turn to turn the phone off overnight at 80%; when I woke up in the morning, it was dead at 2%!

This makes me think it might be a hardware issue, or something isn’t allowing the phone fully shutdown.

Does anyone have any ideas what it might be, or what else I can do to try and fix this? Thanks!

After about 3 hours, I went to turn it on and all it did was give me haptic vibrations whenever I would touch the fingerprint sensor or power button, otherwise completely bricked.
Google Pixel 3: SIM tool accidentally inserted into top microphone hole. Help!

Help, in my haste I accidentally tried to eject my SIM card using the top microphone hole. Yikes! I had used the normal amount of force required to eject the a SIM tray and felt a pop. Has anyone torn down a Pixel 3 and poked a SIM tool in the top microphone to see what would be damaged if anything? If so, I would love to know your findings. I have searched Google and found nothing so far for the Pixel 3. This seems to be a common occurrence if in a hurry and you assume the tray is on the top like a majority of phones. My mistake for sure. Thanks.

Google Pixel 3: Pixel 3 Battery USB C port don't work, drain while idle, getting hot..

Hello,

my brand new pixel 3 , I'm still enjoying it but I'm sad and stuck with all these problems happening at the exact same time.

- USB C to C cables don't work, including original and working cables from Google and Anker, they don’t work anymore both ways (They were working several days ago in one way, if you flip the USB cable it will not register a charge but now both ways don't work) but USB A to USB C using a computer or any wall brick with USB A seems to be working.

- Original USB C buds don't work although it works in other phones.

- Battery is draining so fast, loosing about 15% per hour while phone is idle.

- Phone is getting extremely hot.

- Phone won't start until you connect it to a charger.

Tried all things that people recommending over internet including factory/hard reset, cleaning USB port...

Not sure 100% if it is a software/hardware problem

I’m willing to buy a battery and a charging port assembly from here

My main question: is this a problem with battery and the port, will replacing them solve those issues?

Please assist!
