Google Pixel 3: Pixel 3 only charging one way round

About a year ago my pixel suddenly stopped charging and recognizing any devices on type c. I wiped the port with isopropyl alcohol and cleaned it. After which it began to charge, but only one way round. Charging, as well as type c headphones and other devices, work only on one side of the port. I tried resetting the phone to factory settings, but it didn't change anything. I changed the battery because it was in bad condition and also replaced the type c board. This also did not change anything. Of course, it is time to change the phone, but for now I use it as is and I would like to know what wrong with it anyway. I also attach a screenshot of the message that appears every time I connect something to the port with the broken side.

Google Pixel 3: Pixel 3 Dropped, no longer holds charge.

I dropped my Pixel 3. No screen damage nor back glass damage however when it came to charging it. It wouldn't hold a charge, after a while it hit 0%. Whenever I plug it in it shows that it's charging however as soon as I unplug it, it shuts down immediately.

It heats up whenever I turn it on while it "charges", around the area behind the camera and fingerprint sensor.

The battery was fine beforehand.

What could be the possible issue(s)?

Google Pixel 3: Green lines after battery replacement

I just completed iFixit’s Google Pixel 3 Battery Replacement guide. Upon powering my phone back on, I was greeted by the sight of beautiful green vertical lines.

I was wondering where I might have messed up; do any of the steps shown in the aforementionned guide present a risk to the display if done by a poorly skilled technician such as myself?

I ended up using some 99% isopropyl alcohol to loosen the pull tabs on the old battery. Could an excess of that be responsible for my current problem?

Update (03/30/2022)

The problem “evaporated” on it’s own. I guess it was the alcohol, after all…

Google Pixel 3: Pixel 3 GPS no longer works

i,

I've got a battered and bruised Pixel 3 that's still holding onto dear life. It is a pixel that's been through a fair few replacement parts

My most recent problem is with the GPS, not sure at what point it stopped working, but I have the following problem:

- GPS does not work with the device only (tried with the "GPS Status" app

- GPS works when connected to the Internet and location is on (not sure exactly why/how)

Upon opening the phone I found one of the 2 coaxial cables looks damaged, with a few minor kinks/breaks, could this be the reason the GPS is not working? Or are the cables not important for GPS (wifi and Bluetooth still work when cables are disconnected).

If the cables aren't the issue, I'd like to know where the GPS hardware is located, and if it's possible to get a replacement (if it's not in the main board)

Update: I have replaced the coaxial cables however this has not made a difference to the device GPS

Thank you

Google Pixel 3: permanent vertical lines on display after battery replacement

I did the guide on replacing the battery of a pixel 3 with the ifixit kit.

Everything was fine after taking off the backplate, then i swapped the batterys and used 99% isopropyl alcohol to get the old battery out. After installing the new battery, the screnn showed vertical green lines.

I found multiple Questions here that found, the problem to be with the alcohol and that it would evaporate itself if you wait a while. I did so by letting it stay open during the night. The next morning, just as expected the screen was completly fine again, no lines or any other damage whatsoever.

After using the phone for half a day, the lines came back, stronger, brighter, more and diffrent colors.

I think the screen is propably broken, but I would really like to know why. What was the cause ?

Was it the force or heat of taking off the backplate? But why did it work for two day, no problem.

Was it the isopropyl alocohol ? But why did it work for half a day after having time to evaporate and why would the alcohol permanently damage the screen ?

I really hope someone can give me a bit of insight, also ideas on how to continue would be apprechiated.

Google Pixel 3: New charging assembly unresponsive to USB-C cord

My old Pixel 3 never had any repairs done. Just bought my first iFixIt kits: battery & charging assembly. I used them both at the same time to replace both.

Now I am about to seal my phone back up with everything screwed in and I booted the phone up to test it.. it's able to charge wirelessly perfectly fine and load Android but the USB port is completely unresponsive to charging. (note: I also lost the tiniest screw and attachment on the left side of the phone that holds the speaker in place but I don't think that would be too relevant as long as everything else is secured properly. I have a feeling it might be the cable you plug in for the charging assembly on the right underneath the wireless charging piece.)

(also note that this phone had the same problem of being unable to charge via USB-C and only by Qi before I attempted this repairs. It's possible there's another damaged part but I'm not sure where to look & this phone has never been opened before.)

Please give me some ideas for what/how to check! I've already taken it halfway apart again to make sure all cables are securely plugged in but this is my first repair so I can't be certain.

Thanks :)

Google Pixel 3: My phone is constantly overheationg, how can I fix that?

Ever since replacing my Pixel 3’s battery my phone is overheating constantly, I’m guessing this is because in order to replace the battery I had to remove part of the thermal sticker that connected the battery to the main board (As seen in Step 13 of the battery replacement). When I did this step I wasn’t able to remove the sticker from the battery and just ended up tearing the sticker off the battery.
