Fingerprint scanner not working after replacing. Android in-app tells me to go to g.co/pixel/fingerprintunlock which doesn't exist.

Google has a a fingerpint repair tool at https://pixelrepair.withgoogle.com/udfps but it says my firmware is too new for the tool.

Now I have no fingerprint scanner and I used it on all secure apps.

Love my Pixel XL, but I've had issues with the USB-C port getting dirt and fluff stuck in it etc... What is the best way to clean this without damaging any components, and also any advice on keeping it clean.

Google Pixel 7 Pro: After screem replacement microphone only works for calls

After replacing my screen with the iFixit one, i've notticed that my microphone only works for a phone call. Nothing else works, nor google assistant, nor the recorder nor nothing. Top mic seems to work as on the video recording it is the one that is getting the sound

Google Pixel 6: Pixel 6: Can't use fingerprint after screen replacement.

So I just replaced my Pixel 6's screen via the IFixIt repair kit (btw, this was way easier than expected, so that's a win). However, I can no longer use the fingerprint reader.

If I go to set it up I get an error message: "Can't use fingerprint sensor. Visit a repair provider or g.co/pixel/fingerprintunlock".

That website was seemingly irrelevant and definitely unhelpful :).

In your teardown, can only glass be replaced? The LCD seems to be working as it responds well to my finger. Is the glass glued to the LCD assembly?

Google Pixel: My phone freezes on incoming & outgoing calls

Hi everyone! I purchased my google pixel when it was released. However, now it's useless as it freezes whenever i receive or make a call. Phone operates fine till I receive a call and then the phone freezes. It keeps showing the person calling animation and it doesn't go forward nor i can cancel the call. Thr phone completely freezes as soon as someone calls. Speakers and mic dont work. Shutting down the phone is the only option. I don't know what's wrong with the phone. Can't understand whether its the software or hardware.

I've already tried the following things:

1. Resetting and reboot

2. Installation of new software

3. Upgrading to latest os and then downgrading to previous one

4. Going on beta android P

All these things didn't really help. If anyone knows how to solve this problem please let me know.

Google Pixel 6a: fingerprint reader not working after screen replacement

I replaced the screen using the official ifixit screen with the integrated fingerprint reader.

after replacing the screen, the fingerprint function was not working.

if I try to enroll a new fingerprint, I get a prompt saying the phone can't use the fingerprint sensor and to take it for repair. it also included a link to "http://g.co/pixel/fingerprintunlock" which just redirects to google's docs on using the fingerprint reader.

I tried this tool: https://pixelrepair.withgoogle.com/ and after rebooting, I no longer get the prompt and can get to the enroll fingerprint stage, but it still fails to read my fingerprint; i get 'couldn't process fingerprint' no matter what finger or direction i press.

any assistance or insight would be appreciated.

I recently replaced my screen and everything seems to be working as expected, except for the fingerprint sensor. If I try to register my digits I get the following error.

Fingerprint setup timed out

Fingerprint enrollment didn't work. Try again or use a different finger.

Can someone help me out with this?

Google Pixel: Fixing the microphone issue

I am suffering the microphone issue and there is not official service in my country, so, Is there a way to fix the main microphone issue?

Testing and testing, as nothing else could be done, i was able to record my voice using the main mic. My guess is that it still works, but something is interfering with the sound entering the phone.

Should I open it? Why should I look? How is the process of unstucking the diaphragm of the mic (as I read in the google forums that it can be one of the causes).

Finally, I bought the Charging Port PCB, I replaced it and the mic works really nice again. The main mic is in that PCB, so I finally replaced my phone. :)

Google Pixel 5: Where is the teardown?

Where is the teardown and repairability score for this phone? It's been out for 5 months and all there is is a x-ray. The pixel 4a, 4a 5g, every iPhone model, every Samsung model, Xbox, ps5, random Chinese manufacturer phones, OnePlus Nord, watches, speakers, headphones, even lame phone game controller s all get teardowns. But googles main phone for the year? Nothing.

Pixel 1-4 all got one. But the 5? ignored.

Disappointing by iFixit standards. Not a single repair guide or even parts.

But yeah let's tear down a robot pillow with a tail.

So I have a pink line across my phones screen it feels consistent with screen damage. If i apply pressure on the two opposite corners it goes awayusualy. But increasingly less sucsess. I just want to know how you would tell if this is just an issue where I need to replace the screen or if I will need a whole new motherboard.

Google Pixel 6: How to calibrate the fingerprint sensor?

Hi,

I replaced my pixel 6 display, and went on to calibrate the fingerprint sensor with the pixel repair page. When the page starts downloading the software, it says “couldn't find the unique software for this device” and cancels the download. Am I doing something wrong? Any ideas on how I can get the fingerprint sensor working again?

P S. I tried to swap the old fingerprint sensor with the new one, but I broke(cracked) the old one trying to remove it. So it's not an option for me.

Google Pixel 6a: Why is my screen tinted yellow?

Day 3 or 4 of using this new screen. Finding that the screen is now tinted yellow. I have tried going through Color Correction, Night Mode and Extra Dim to no avail. It was just fine last night but this morning I turn my phone on to find it like this. Any idea of what could be causing the problem or is this just a defective part?

Hi,

I bought my pixel 6a screen replacement kit in November, but I was really busy for two months and I was able to do it just now. So when I replaced the display, by the way, it was really easy, I get a green hue when the brightness is set to 80% or higher. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to calibrate my Pixel 6a after replacement?

Google Pixel 7 Pro: Fingerprint reader not working on new screen, how to troubleshoot?

I recently changed the screen of my Pixel 7 Pro, the display and the touch feature both work well; the fingerprint does not.

When I try to setup the Fingerprint Unlock android feature, I immediately get the following error on the Touch and hold the fingerprint sensor screen:

Fingerprint setup timed out
Fingerprint enrollment didn't work. Try again or use a different finger.

Things I tried but didn't fix the issue:

Ran the official repair app on: https://pixelrepair.withgoogle.com/carri... (after successfully pairing with my phone, the app displays an error stating that the software on my phone is newer than that of the tool and is unable to scan it).
Factory reset.
Re-opened the phone and double-checked the screen-to-frame connector.
Doubled-checked the sensor-to-screen connector (came installed but I disconnected and connected it back).
Downloaded and installed the Android USB driver for windows on my PC https://developer.android.com/studio/run...
Successfully ran the Update and Software Repair Tool on https://pixelrepair.withgoogle.com/udfps

None worked, however after doing point 6, the error message takes more time to appear.

Before the new screen I remember my screen would turn very bright white on and around the fingerprint sensor, now it doesn't.

I have the fingerprint sensor from my old screen ready to install on the new screen but before risking damaging the new screen, I thought I asked here:

Is there any other way to troubleshoot the fingerprint reader via software to be sure it's not working?
