I have a 100’ drain snake that kinked about 15’ in from the tip, so I cut the cable back and used a quick fix to replace the end. Is there a way I can connect 2 cables together to replace the piece I cut off? rather then replacing the whole cable.

doing maintenance on the machine, needed a new cable, when ordered the hold for connection wont fit on the screw, what are some ways to safely install the cable back onto the machine?

When using the General Drain Cleaner Speedrooter 92R

The General Speedrooter 92R Drain Cleaner is an auto-feed drain cleaner 100' x 5/8" from General Pipe Cleaners. Released in 2010. Model number: HDPS92EO.

The snake extends just fine but the retraction of the snake often stops completely. What is needed to be replaced to correct that problem?
