My 96 year old father is distressed because a power surge disabled his General Electric Telephone 2-9710A. His late wife (my Mom) gave it to him as a gift. The display numbers just keep flashing. I removed the 9volt battery and unplugged the item from the house 120volt AC for an hour, hoping that circuitry would reset when it was plugged back in. No joy. My Dad said, "Sue woke me up every morning for 15 years with that clock radio, even after she was gone." It is a very sentimental reminder of his wife, who died of cancer. Please, can you help?

When answering the phone you can hear caller but they cannot hear you because microphone in hand set does not pick up any longer. Can this be fixed?

General Electric Phone: How can I take apart the handset to change the battery or microphone

People have a had time hearing me using the GE 2-9220 NIC handset. How can I take apart the handset to either change the Lithium battery (which it apparently has) or change the microphone? There are no obvious places for screws. There are internal catches at the bottom near the cord.

GE phone 29586 has lost display lighting and is almost impossible to see. I think this was an instant failure a few years ago. All other functions work. Anyone know the solution?
