Ge Profile refregerator: mi refrigerador congela, pero luego hace escarcha y deja de congelar

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am experiencing a serious recurring issue with my GE Profile refrigerator, and I am looking for clear technical guidance.

Initially, the refrigerator was not freezing properly, and it was diagnosed that the evaporator fan was faulty. The fan was replaced, and after that repair the unit started freezing very well.

However, after several days of normal operation, excessive frost builds up in the freezer area (where ice is produced) and also on the interior back wall of the refrigerator compartment. When this happens, the refrigerator stops cooling, presumably because airflow is blocked by ice buildup behind the evaporator.

If I manually defrost the unit, it works correctly again for about 3–4 weeks, but then the exact same problem occurs again.

Based on this behavior, I strongly suspect a failure in the automatic defrost system (defrost heater, defrost thermostat/bimetal, temperature sensor/thermistor, or control board). Since the evaporator fan is new and the issue is cyclical, it does not appear to be an airflow or cooling-capacity problem.

I would greatly appreciate a proper technical diagnosis so I can guide the repair process correctly, as previous technicians have not been able to identify the root cause.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Kind regards,

Ge Profile refregerator: It never ejects the next batch

I have just returned my electronic GE icemaker. After resetting it, it will eject one batch of ice and I can see it refill the reservoir to produce the next batch. However, it never ejects the next batch until I do the reset procedure again. I've done this several times over a couple of days. Is continues to only make one batch.

Any ideas why this would be?

The water tube keeps freezing over and then popping out in the back of the ice maker. We have cleared the tube several times.
Ge Profile refregerator: Why will my refrigerator not turn on?

So I was troubleshooting the refrigerator not cooling but freezer working fine. Found what I think might be the issue the evaporator fan in the fridge. As i was taking the deli drawer apart the plug to it came loose and the wires came un pinned and touched each other! After finding the wiring diagram i re installed the pins in the correct locations. I unplugged the refrigerator and then plugged it back in to reset it but the lights or anything wont come on. The only thing that comes on is the screen on the front door and it only turns on to see the GE symbol and I cant change it to say or so anything else. What do you think the issue might be? Blew the main board after it shorted out or is there a fuse I can look for? Any other way to reset it other than unplug?

Ge Profile refregerator: The water filter is leaking

The GE refrigerator is 2 years old. I’m in this house for about 1 year now and I replaced the filter once already. After 6 months, the water filter light came on again, and so I bought from GEappliances online a set of three new water filters MWF exactly the same as the one being replaced. The instructions says something about align the arrows and turn to the right until it stops. The arrow in the filter doesn’t have another mark to align to, but I managed to fit it in and twist to the right until it sops. However, it immediately started to leak. I took it out and try again, still leaking. Try for a third time, completely out and then in again twist it until it seemed it fits and turning more until it click and then it stops….still leaking. What’s the problem? I bought it as a genuine part from GE directly.

Put the fridge in diagnostic mode and no errors reported.

Removed the panel covering the freezer evap coils and there was some ice buildup, but it wasn't significant.

Did a hard reset on the fridge. No change.

Ge Profile refregerator: GE Refrigerator control panel keep increasing set temperature and beep

Model PZS22MYKBHFS

The control panel keeps changing the fridge temperature, increasing it at random times from 37 to 44. At first it didn't happen a lot so wasn't too much of an issue but now it's trying to change it multiple times a minute so the beeping noise is driving me crazy especially at night since I can't just turn off the fridge.

Once it sets it to 44 degrees, it tries to go beyond that so the fridge does 3 beeping noise as an error sound that it can't go any higher. To prevent my fridge from going beyond 37 degrees to keep my food safe, I have to lock the controls. But with that it still beeps cus it's trying to increase the temp, but at least the temp doesn't change with it being locked.

So it got worse now, I need to use the ice sometimes so I have to unlock the control panel and when I do, none of the buttons work when I press on the control panel. I have to wait some random time for it to work again so now I'm basically just keeping it on lock forever because I can't stop it from changing the temperature.
