Gateway NV53A24u: Why does my computer shut down when I press the shift button?

The shift key on the laptop is not functioning properly. When I press the shift key when typing, the computer shuts off. If I press any other key it is fine but the shift key is malfunctioning.

Bumped table with Gateway laptop NE56R48u, it fell onto Saltillo tile floor. Left off for 3 days. Tried to power up while plugged into outlet. Nothing after several hours and trying several key combinations to restart, etc. Nothing. Shut down, unplugged, waited a few hours. Put on rubber soled shoes and opened up back hoping to find something loose, took out battery, then reseated. Still no luck.

After a few days, tried it again and nothing happened for awhile. Then Boot Manager popped up. Screen said:

Boot. Option. Menu

“Up arrow” and “down arrow” to change option.

ENTER to select an option

But

the rest of the screen is blank...no options to choose.

Nothing on keyboard seems to work.

Gateway NV53A24u: Distorted sound from speakers

I was using 2 different programs to play music, switching back and forth. I accidently played both at the same time. Since then my sound is distorted from my speakers. If I plug in headphones or use external speakers the sound is great . Did I blow out my installed speakers ??

Gateway NV53A24u: Why is my Wi-Fi not turning on

I press Fn+ F2 and my Wi-Fi will Not come on. My laptop is stuck in WAN mode dialing a connection. My laptop worked fine until a couple of weeks ago and now NO Wi-Fi just Broadband.

Gateway NV53A24u: Our Gateway NV53A Laptop doesn't power on

My wife had her Gateway laptop for years and in the last 3 plus years I has stopped turning on. It doesn't power on even after I recently purchased a universal laptop charger and tried it at 19v which is the required voltage. I'm thinking the battery may need to be replaced so I may try that next but wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue and if there may be an easier fix.

Hello i bought a used Windows laptop it's a gateway nv53a laptop but I'm kinda new at Windows but anyway I bought this laptop from a friend and I took it home and resetted it and now it's asking for a Windows 7 product key and how would I get one oh and also the product key isn't on the back or side of the laptop i checked and can't find nothing so how would I find my product key thanks

Gateway NV53A24u: My Laptop Boots Up, But the Display Doesn't Work

Hello, I have a Gateway Nv53a laptop since 2011, it have been through a reballing process 2 years ago due gpu overheating and was working fine until 2 weeks ago.. then the pc started to fail when attempting to boot up... then boot up again and was working again without `problems until yesterday after a feature update from windows 10 os.. again the same problem, the pc boots up, i am sure it reach the logon screen (even i hear the sounds after i plug in/out usb devices) but no display at all... not in the integrated led monitor, neither via hdmi/vga.... i initially thought it could be the gpu (due previous reballing) but the gpu temps where pretty ok and cool at the time (i check this all the time after the reballing event), besides the pc powers on the screen and shows a single underscore (signs that the pc it loading something, but then the screen goes off and happen all stated above)

what it could be? thanks in advance for your comments

Note: I use the laptop as a desktop pc, using the external monitor via hdmi and usb peripherals... the laptop rarely is shutted down, i keep it running all the time (i dont know if this info it is useful)

When I turn on my laptop, the light on the power button comes on, but the screen remains black. How can I fix this? Do I need a new screen?
