Sears Garage Door Opener: Garage door closes after opening

Hello!

Recently my garage door started closing immediately after being opened via the remote or the button inside the garage. After several attempts to open it, it finally stops going down again, or if you push it upward when it's near the top, it seems to stop it.

Anyone know what would cause this, and if there's a simple fix, or do I need a new garage door opener? Getting my car in the garage is like playing a strange video game, and one of these days it's going to scrape my car! :-(

My garage door opener is a Sears 139 65 3000.

I have a 2004 Craftsman half hp Garage Door Opener. Door and rails are in good working order. Opener stop clips seem to be broken. Adjusting screws (for force and travel) turn but do not allow for adjustment.

I push remote and garage door goes down but then it goes back up. I adjust sensors that works for a few days then it starts doing the same thing.Is this bad sensors or there something else going on?

remote won't allow for use to close the garage. The wall mount one has to be held down for the garage door to open or close. The remote will open door only.

Sears Garage Door Opener: Can I use a universal Programable Remote

I am wondering if I can use a universal programmable remote with this garage door opener? The remote says it works with sears and craftsman opener that were made after 1997. I do not know when the opener was made and I just purchased the house and it did not come with any remotes. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Garage Door Opener: The door stops mid air, the eyes flick like they're blocked

I can open my door most of the time. Sometime it opens but it doesn't shut unless I get out of the car and hold the button if it closes at all. The eyes flick as if they are blocked but they aren't and they are clean. This open isn't even 5 years old yet. Any advice would be helpful.

Sears Garage Door Opener: Winter is here and my garage door does not stay closed

my craftsman 1/2 hp garage door closes and opens fine. However, when i close the door via remote or the wall panel, the door goes down, hits the floor for a few seconds, and then comes back up.

I’ve gone through the forums and have checked the following:

checked the 2 censors to make sure they are aligned and the green light is on,.
I’ve cleaned everything around the sensors it to make sure there is no obstruction.
I have also unplugged and plugged in the power to the motor
I’ve played around with the up and down tension adjustments in the back
I’ve tried holding the wall button to by-pass the sensor. The door still doesn’t stay down. Which makes me wonder if the issue is with the motor unit?

I called a couple of repair guys and they both quoted me $150 to come check it out. I am hoping someone here can help from having this unexpected expense.

The opener no longer works with remotes and only closes when you hold the mounted door bell button. I disconnected both sensory wires on the back of the opener meaning they should not come into play. unfortunately I still must hold the button to get the door to close. No shorts in wire running from door bell to opener and hooked up properly to #1 and #2 screws…..HELP.

Garage Door opens by itself. I tried to erase the memory and use the old remote that came with it but the yellow learn button won’t erase all the memory.

Garage Door Opener: remote opener works close up - but no range

T/S progress so far:

New battery and several different remote control - same result

- can control with wall switch but remote more than two feet away does not work - works within one to two feet.

- suspect receiver circuit in opener - maybe front end not working.
