GE Refrigerator GSS25GSH: Freezer light stopped working

I have a GE side by side refrigerator, model: GSS25GSHMCSS. My freezer light went out, and when the technician replaced the light, it started to come on then immediately went right back out. Upon testing the circuit, it showed 30v DC going to a light that was rated for 5-7v. A replacement control board was ordered, and replaced, but the issue remains even with the new control board. The freezer has a single light mentioned above. The refrigerator side was checked, and is outputting 10-12 v if I remember correctly, which is correct as the fridge side has 2 LED panels in it. Has anyone seen a similar issue, or know of a fix?

Hi guys,

I have a roughly 4 yr old GE side-by-side refrigerator.

Model GSS25GSHSS

My issue is that the freezer side is 20 degrees (measured with a real thermometer) when the front control panel says the actual temp is -9. I have it set at 0 but the freezer continues to hover between 15-25 (real temp) and the “actual temp” on the panel is always saying -9. The fridge side seems to be fine at 37.

I have replaced the following:

Control Board

Defrost Sensor and Thermostat

Second thermistor on right side of freezer

Defrost Heater

Evaporator Fan Motor

Cleaned condenser coil

…but nothing has fixed the issue. It still does the above.

Any ideas? Please help!
