GE Refrigerator GSL25JFT: Temperature in freezer shows big variation

i have some issues wit my GE(GSL25JFTABS) side by side fridge. The fridge was not cooling enough and i noticed the temperature in freezer and fridge going up after 3 days. i saw frost in the evaporator coil and saw the thermostat wires were slightly out of position. replaced that with new GE genuine part. After manually defrosting and changing thermostat, freezer started working fine , but after 3 days same issues started popping out. Saw frost in freezer and temperature was going up so as fridge. Checked the defrost heater and saw it very black and did’’t pass continuity test. replaced it with GE original part.

The freezer and fridge is working fine for 2-3 days. but i saw big temperature variation in freezer. I have portable thermostat in both places. Fridge is showing steady temperature under 40F (high is 43F and lowest was 32F), but freezer thermostat is showing high as 45F and low as -10F) . i haven’t put anything in freezer yet to test it out. This Cycle in freezer happens every day, each night i reset the thermostat and next day morning freezer shows high of 45F to -10. the ice is not melting in freezer… any idea why so big temperature variation.

any help is appreciated.

GE Refrigerator GSL25JFT: Freezer is cold, but fridge is 67°

I have a GE GSL25JFTABS side by side fridge, and the fresh side won't get cold. The freezer works just fine, but no cold air is getting into the fridge side. I've checked the damper flap, and it's stuck open. I stuck my hand in the damper, and nothing feels frozen. Nothing appears to be frozen over, on any compartment I can see in the freezer side, either. I've researched solutions, and have found many involving a damper flap that is stuck closed, but nothing when it's stuck open. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on here, and what I might try before just buying a new fridge?

Thank you! -Lexa

GE Refrigerator GSL25JFT: Power Surge, compressor only runs after plugging in- help me diagnose

Have a GE side by side model GSL25JFTABS

Last night we had bad weather knocked out some of my electrical devices and my fridge. power surge most likely. Unplugged and plugged back in but the control panel would scroll 0's and not respond to any commands.

Took the fridge main control panel off and re-seated when I plugged back in the compressor came on and the panel now worked, but within a couple seconds the compressor turns off and the fan motor continues to run. The water will not dispense either so I'm wondering if something got blown that controls both the compressor and the water?

I was going to replace the main board but not sure that's the issue. Anyone have any ideas or had the same issue?

- when plugged in compressor runs but then stops within 10 seconds

- water will not dispense when the water lever is pressed

- all other controls on the control panel seems to be working

Thanks in advance
