GE Refrigerator CSHS5UGX: Dispenser cradle and Express Chill button makes the screen flash.

When I attempt to dispense water the screen turns off and then comes back on with the temperature set options. If I select the Express Chill button the screen repeatedly flashes off and on. During this off/on process a click can be heard. I have tried unplugging the unit for 30 seconds with no help.
