I followed the iFixit guide for replacing the scroll wheel and successfully took apart the mouse, cleaned the wheel and reassembled the mouse. Everything including the scroll wheel is working great with one exception. Something happened to the button just behind the scroll wheel that allows you to switch between free scrolling (i.e. the scroll wheel spins freely) and traditional, clicky scrolling. I haven’t been able to figure out how to fix the issue. It’s stuck on the traditional clicky scrolling so it’s not the end of the world, but I’d like to have the option to switch. I don’t think any springs or other components fell out but I might have missed something small falling out during disassembly/reassembly. Does anyone know what might have happened.
