Lens extended won't retract. Removed battery, reinstalled no retraction.

direct dc connection to power source, no retraction.

Fujifilm Finepix F810: LCD screen displays everything on screen except picture

Everything shows on screen but when I go to take a picture the image is not being displayed. There are no warning signs on the screen except the hand with exclamation. But still no image. Any advice to try to fix this old treasure?
