Fujifilm FinePix S8630: The back plate will not come off. What do I do?

I have been referring to your battery door replacement guide and have gotten to the part that says remove the back plate. I have tried multiple times and am unable to get it off.

I cannot get my screen to turn on while the camera is turned on. Do I need to replace the screen or can it be fixed another way?

Fujifilm FinePix S8630: Zoom not working - button pressed but no zoom

Hi,

anyone know what is wrong with this camera? I have a S8650 and the camera will not zoom. I press the zoom button and nothing works. If i press the zoom button to zoom out the zoom icon comes on the screen (already max zoom out range) but i cannot zoom in!!

not sure what is wrong?

ive tried the standard troubleshooting. i.e. taking a piece a paper and sliding it around each level of the lens barrel. using pressurized air to force debris out to no avail. My next step was to open it up, but since this is my first time dealing with cameras ( normally work on destops) I wanted some advise.
