Frigidaire Refrigerator: Refrigerator isn't cold in fridge or freezer

Hey, need some help on my fridge. I have an old fridge that is a side by side Frigidaire. I noticed the other day when I open both the fridge and freezer that it wasn't cold anymore. So now its hot in both the fridge and freezer, I already clean and vacuum the back part of dust. Does anyone might know what the problem is? I have not vacuum the bottom front behind the kick panel, but I looked in that area and didn't see any dust down there. Need help please Chris

Frigidaire Refrigerator: My frigidaire refrigerator stopped cooling

Hi my frigidaire refrigerator stopped cooling. The freezer is working but the fridge stopped today after I was putting away groceries and left open for too long. I used the on/ off button on door and turned off and back on but still not cooling and temp went to 14 degrees celc. Now I’m also hearing an on and off clicking noise coming from the right side of fridge. Please advise, thanks!

Frigidaire Refrigerator FFHB2740P A: Evaporator Fan in ice maker won't turn on

Hey all will try to make this bullet point succinct.

Ice maker had stopped working about a 8 months ago I took it apart and discovered that moisture had built up and frozen on the fan blades disallowing it from spinning. A quick thaw and slapped back together and everything worked fine.

Last week the ice maker stopped working again did the same steps but the fan wasn't blocked or anything so I thawed and put it back together but no luck this time.

Did some testing and some research, the evaporator coil had some slight frost build up but nothing too alarming and could be due to the fan not running.

I tested the current on the evaporator coil and the thermostat and both had current flowing to it. Then I checked the current on the fan and same thing. However the fan would never spin.

The fan was capable and I wanted to eliminate it as an issue so I actually unplugged and plugged it into my PC's motherboard and boom it worked perfectly.

I plugged it back into the fridge but it still won't spin, the door is shut and the coils are cold but nothing. I turned off the fridge and unplugged it for an hour to power cycle it and when I turned the fridge back on the fan spun for about 5 seconds then stopped.

It seems like whatever signal the board is supposed to send to the fan it isn't. Is there anyway to fix this, new board? Soldering old board? Any ideas of other things that could be sending the board faulty information?

Any help or ideas is appreciated!

Frigidaire Refrigerator: Water dispenser broken after filter change Frigidaire

Hi,

I changed the water filter in my 2 door Frigidaire refrigerator (Puresource 3 filter) according to the box and videos, however, after the change and going to run the dispenser into a bucket the water dispenser began to have issues. At first, the dispenser was working normally for a few seconds, then it sputtered, and then the water begins to just be leaking out of the dispenser and also the lights in the dispenser area. I tried changing the filter again to the old one/putting the new one back in - when I removed the filter the first time water came out onto the shelf. At this point when I tried running the dispenser again it’s still coming out but in the weird leaking fashion and now it won’t shut off unless I open the freezer door. Water also seems to be leaking out from the black panel that houses the dispenser area (not sure if it’s actually leaking or just water running underneath and it rolling down the fridge face).

I’m at a loss of what to do and have not seen any similar situations yet. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated thank you!

Frigidaire Refrigerator: What's up with my compressor?

Here are the symptoms in my side by side Frigidaire: fridge and freezer cool, but not cold enough - freezer is above freezing. I can hear the fan running in the freezer and cold-ish air comes out. Underneath everything is clean and the fan is running. The compressor tank is room temperature. Every minute or two I hear the compressor turn on and run for several seconds and then turn off again. It sounds somewhat noisy, probably too noisy, but I don’t know how loud it should be since I have never heard it pulled out of the cabinet with the back off before. Also, if it is the compressor, can I replace it does a professional need to because refrigerant will need to be recovered/added? Thanks for any input.

Frigidaire Refrigerator FRS23H7C: Fan(s) Inside Cycling On And Off Before Running

Fan(s) inside starts in increments, sometimes barely clicking on and immediately off again. It will keep doing this for minutes sometimes, while each time it starts, it stays on longer for a fraction of a second. Finally it will start and seemingly run normally. Other times it will run normally after only a few false starts. Eventually though it always runs. The refrigerator always stays cool. It's been doing this for months. I thought it would just die.

I have an additional question... are there two fans inside this unit that are moving air, or just one? I know about the one inside the freezer. Is there a second one between the freezer side and the fridge side? I know there are vents in the top left of the fridge side where the cool air is coming in from the freezer. When I open the fridge door to listen when the fan is doing this start and stop thing, it sounds like there is a noise coming from behind these vents. If there is a second fan in there, then I believe it is starting and stopping at the same time as the one that's inside the back wall of the freezer. If that was the case, then that would probably mean that whatever is controlling the fans is the problem since they're both starting and stopping together.

Frigidaire Refrigerator FPHS2399KF: Frigidaire Water dispenser working but ice maker not

Hello, we have a Frigidaire side by side refrigerator with ice and water dispenser. (ice dispenser is in the fridge) Model number FPHB2899PF. The ice dispenser broke last year and we replaced it, it was working just fine until a few days ago. We also noticed a large rust spot on the back of the fridge but no leak in any of the water hoses. We also never noticed any kind of burning odour cause it does sort of look like a burn to a point. If anyone can help that would be awesome. TIA!

Frigidaire refrigerator: Frigidaire fridge Evaporator Fan not Working but able to turn by hand

Model: FGHN2844LF3

•My freezer is cooling, albeit not to the ideal temperature, and my refrigerator is not getting cold. The freezer stays around 11-19 degrees, the fridge stays around 75-78.

•the refrigerator temp is displaying SY, freezer temp displaying EF which I’ve read is an evaporator fan issue but also could lead to control board??

•I unplugged the fridge for 48 hours to see if when it turned back on it pointed to the defrost portion being the problem. It still didn’t work!!

•I removed the evaporator fan cover and the fan is able to be turned by hand but it’s not turning on its own. I did see two small 1 second periods where it tried to turn on it’s on but it’s definitely not turning consistently.

•the freezer light wasn’t turning on so I exchanged a fridge bulb with the freezer bulb to see if it was burned out or more of a control board issue and that light now turns on but I plugged the original freezer bulb in the fridge bulb spot and it works there too??

•the refrigerator “chirps” excessively when it’s turned on.

•it occasionally makes loud POPs and knocks. Sometimes the pops are as loud as a gun shot it seems but they range. It has done this for the duration of us owning it, so we’re not concerned about that if it did the cooling part. Just adding so I don’t miss any diagnostic details.

•the ice maker broke a month after we purchased the fridge (7 years ago) and we didn’t have it fixed because we had a stand alone ice maker. I only add this detail so that I can give all of the problems to see if they add up together. (That’s broken now too so it feels like I’m in an appliance graveyard.)

•the high temp alert beeps more than it seems it should even when the fridge is “working.” (Potential diagnostic detail)

please help,

I would like to know for sure about the evaporator fan before replacing it as I’ve read that sometimes it can end up not being the issue. I also don’t have a multimeter but could purchase one if it would help me greatly. Also, I am not a professional appliance repairman, but I have been able to fix our washer and dryer thanks to YouTube and google. I am confident I can fix almost anything but also am stay at home mom trying not to get electrocuted.
