Beeps 3 times randomly and it does it all the time. everything seems to work just fine

These are oldschool washer+dryer combo towers that function on timers and possess no circuitboards.

Both machines are working perfectly apart from that the drain pumps are receiving strange voltage in all cycles. I have connected both pumps directly to 120v power and both are fine.

One machine I have tested more extensively than the other, here are the results;

• when the drain pump is not engaged in a drain cycle (either the timer is not pulled out, or it is a part of the cycle that does not use the drain pump) the hot line to drain pump is receiving 120v, and the neutral line is receiving some 50v
• when the washer timer is pulled out and the washer is attempting to engage the drain pump, depending on the cycle, the hot line is receiving 0v and the neutral line jumps up to some 70v

I have a spare timer on hand at the complex which I have swapped out for the original, but got exactly the same results.

On the second machine I got similar readings, with voltage coming through the neutral line, and voltage coming through the hot line when it should not be (e.g. when the washer timer is not engaged at all), with the only difference being that the hot line is not actually ever receiving 120v, and the readings on the neutral were somewhat different numbers than the first.

One theory is that there is some kind of partial short somewhere in the wires.

But that seems to random of an issue to have found on both of 2 different machines?

Any additional ideas appreciated, I have not yet had the time to completely dismantle and rebuild the washer so as to fully inspect the length of the wires. A full day job.

Drying just started acting up.

Drying currently empty, Start attempt. Will turn approximately 1/4 rotation, Can hear motor trying but stops.

Try again, Unit maybe turns 1/8 to same result. Then eventually will not turn at all but I can hear motor trying.

Tub (sorry for not exact terminology) has some give it in it currently on the front. Feel like it might be off balance. Not sure how I would take apart to check as I cannot find a manual for this old girl.

After about 10 minutes I can try again and it starts the same scenario (only reason I did this is I needed to prove to the misses that I wasn’t being lazy it actually didn’t work :-D) Don’t want to burn out motor (anymore then it potentially is) Let me know what you guys think.

The dryer would not start so I took the front panel off and saw that the drum glide felts were damaged and coming loose. I replaced the top and bottom felts. I stretched the bottom felt too much when installing and snipped off about a 1/4” extra. After reinstalling, the dry went for about 15 minutes before a low rumbling could be heard which got louder as it went on.

I took the machine apart and noticed the pulley wheel had a crack so I ordered a new one along with a new belt. Replaced them and got the same result. (the belt leaves shaving or rubber dust underneath the pulley)

I ordered a new drum bearing even though the old one looked good and replaced it. Same result.

At this point the motor would not turn without assistance so I thought it was bad bearings and installed a new motor (and blower housing it comes with). Same rumbling, maybe even worse.

I noticed when I pushed on the back of the dryer the rumbling would stop and noticed on one of the corners it was missing a screw. I had to drill through the hole to get to where it secures the intake to the back round plate. Still continued to rumble.

The rumbling did not start until after I installed the new felts. They have had to be replaced a few times over the years. The left side of the felt has rubbing marks because the drum leans to one side creating a gap on one side and rubbing against the other. But I think it has always done this. I have leveled the dryer but the drum still leans that way.

Whenever I reinstall the drum it runs fine for 15 min to 45 min

The only thing I have not replaced is the blower fan but the dryer runs fine with the belt off and starts rumbling as soon as I put the belt back on.

Any ideas?

frigidaire laundry center model ffle3911qw0 -technician got an error code of 11 then 3 beeps therefore replaced controller board-53045000456.

original problem washing section stopped working and did not drain -dryer works fine
