There are two common ways to clean earwax. The first is to use a cotton swab, but this just causes the earwax to be pushed further in the mesh.

Another common way to clean earwax in the ear and on small objects is to use hydrogen peroxide in low concentrations (between 3%-6%) as it softens it. The risk here is always whether it could negatively interact with either the plastic or electronics.

The common sentiment is that the low concentration means the plastic is likely uneffected, but if it cannot dry off from the electronics, it could cause corrosion issues.

This, however, can be mitigated by simply removing the electronics or thin materials such as the driver's diaphragm. (As in, remove the whole driver.) So the solution cannot interact with the sensitive parts.

In summary, the 2nd most common failure of earbuds is the inability to clean earwax buildup past the mesh. Can this device be disassembled enough to clean the mesh effectively.
