Fairphone 1: My charger socket is broken, is it possible to fix it?

Hello,

my charger socket doesn't work like it should, that means that I can't reallly charge my phone. If I want to charge it, I have to put it in a special position where the kable is somehow snapped off, then it works. I'm not sure why it is broken but I think it's probably because I was to harsh with the kable. Is there any possibility to fix it? I also looked on the fairphone-website itself, but I couldn't find anything about it so far.

Hoping for an answer soon, Greetings Julia

Fairphone 1: Waiting for the answer from the support team at Fairphone.com

The problem seems to be around since January 2014 – see https://fairphone.zendesk.com/hc/communi... (contacting the support recommended:-)

While waiting for an answer from the Fairphone support team, I am searching for possible fixes. Is there a more robust replacement, perhaps with Fixit.com?

Update...

...and corrections (sorry, folks)

Hi odlturkey03 and thanks, so I've had a look into the Fixit guide disassembly part and do not feel comfortable with getting at it myself. Meanwhile, found a discussion about the weak USB port – http://fairphone.com/2013/10/03/guest-bl... Seems to be an unsolved issue... No reaction from the Fairphone support team yet...

:-)

P.S. will come back with Fairphone people's answer

Fairphone 1: How do I repair/replace the Fairphone's microphone?

The Mic in my FP sends only noise, so I can do calls onlöy with a headset. Reboot (incl. battery removal) did once help for an hour or so, but thern the problem started again. Another reboot did not help. So probably there is a loose contact or the mic itself is broken. Unfortunately the FP site does not offer a new mic and there is also no repair guide for this part. Does anybody know how to repai it?

Hi Fairphone/Ifixit,

During the repair of my Phone I was tapping it on the table to get some dust out, it came out, but also a smal plastic ring, about 3 millimeter in diameter and 2 millimeter high. It was also more narrow on one side as the other. I couldn't find out where it came from, so I put back together the Phone and it seems to be working fine. What could the (verry small) ring be?
