Fairphone 1: My charger socket is broken, is it possible to fix it?

Hello,

my charger socket doesn't work like it should, that means that I can't reallly charge my phone. If I want to charge it, I have to put it in a special position where the kable is somehow snapped off, then it works. I'm not sure why it is broken but I think it's probably because I was to harsh with the kable. Is there any possibility to fix it? I also looked on the fairphone-website itself, but I couldn't find anything about it so far.

Hoping for an answer soon, Greetings Julia

Fairphone 1: Waiting for the answer from the support team at Fairphone.com

The problem seems to be around since January 2014 – see https://fairphone.zendesk.com/hc/communi... (contacting the support recommended:-)

While waiting for an answer from the Fairphone support team, I am searching for possible fixes. Is there a more robust replacement, perhaps with Fixit.com?

Update...

...and corrections (sorry, folks)

Hi odlturkey03 and thanks, so I've had a look into the Fixit guide disassembly part and do not feel comfortable with getting at it myself. Meanwhile, found a discussion about the weak USB port – http://fairphone.com/2013/10/03/guest-bl... Seems to be an unsolved issue... No reaction from the Fairphone support team yet...

:-)

P.S. will come back with Fairphone people's answer

Fairphone 2: Prevent/Fix Touchscreen dead zones

A 5mm vertical row of my FP2 touchscreen doesn`t respond to touch Inputs.

Prevention:

-You should try to avoid tensional stress of the phone (eg. phone in pocket while cycling).

-Also heat could have caused this problem, which my phone was exposed to when the problem occured.

Fix?

I heard that the problem could be (temporarily) fixed using an electrostatic discharge from a lighter igniter.

Why should this work? Is it influencing the static potential of that area, since it is a capacitive touchscreen?

Has anyone damaged his phone due to the high Voltage and electric field?

Are there other solutions without replacing the whole screen?

Fairphone 2: Why isnt my phone turning on?

I let my Fairphone 2 battery die out and when I went to charge it again, it wont turn back on. I have let it charge for a whole day and it still isnt turning on. I have tried multiple chargers as well that are the spec Fairphone ask for. Sometimes it will go to the fairphone load screen and start showing the battery charge screen and says that it has 0% battery. After showing that the screen just goes blank.

when the charger is in the phone the red led light on the front is on, but that is even on when the battery is out.

is this a problem with the battery or a problem with the phone? My phone is only 1 month old.

Fairphone 2: Why is the display freezing up after one minute of use?

I have tried turning it of and on, removing the batteri and removing the screen, it still does not work. Every time I turn it back on, it freezes up after one minute of use. It will not respond to any touch, but all the images and icons are still there.

I am pretty sure that it has nothing to do with any app, since I haven't installed something in a long time, and it doesn't seem to matter if I use it or not, or what feature I use, it freezez regardlessly.
