Fairphone 2: Why does my fairphone restarts 5times a day?

ive got my fairphone 2 since july/August. After one month it begun to restart every day for 3 till 5 times. I dont get any answer oft my Problem since four weeks from The fairphone Team... Can anybody help me?

Fairphone 3: My phone won't switch on anymore

Hi,

My phone just switched off, even though it still had about 50% battery left.

It won't charge any more either.

I tried several chargers that worked with it and that currently work with other phones as well.

I dismantled it and rebuilt it, twice. It still won't turn on or charge.

Do you have any idea about what I should do next?

Fairphone 5: NFC chip replacement query

My NFC chip is faulty. I've done all the tests including the onboard hardware ones, but no success, so time to replace if I can.

does anyone know where it's located and if/how I can swap it out?

Fairphone 4: Why can't I extract the display?

Approximately two months ago, I accidentally partially destroyed the display of my Fairphone 4, and after various struggles in terms of buying and selling, today I finally managed to get a replacement ready to be installed.

I prepared myself and started the official video available on YouTube. Fully charged battery, screw container, cloth, plastic card, and screwdriver at hand. Everything is ready.

So, I begin, initially struggling a bit with the trickier screws, but soon I find the method. However, it doesn't seem to be enough because when I try to remove the screen, even though all eight screws have been removed, the bottom part, below the SIM slot, remains firmly in place.

And that's the story of how all the waiting has been wasted so far.

I also tried to disassemble the rest, but the bottom part, secured with six silver screws, even after removal, doesn't alleviate my difficulty, while the side part has hexagonal screws, so a crosshead screwdriver doesn't seem to be enough. Now I have reassembled everything except for the eight screws attached to the screen, to see if someone responds today.

Everytime, I make a phone call or received a phone call. There other side how call me is not able to hear my voices. Help to fix FairPhone 4. Do you think is the speaker part is the problem?

Fairphone 3: I accidentally poured coffee on my phone. What to do?

I accidentally poured coffee on the front side of my phone. It turned off within 10 seconds. I´ve taken off the back and the front, taken out all the screws, and now I don´t know what to do.

Can´t find any tutorial regarding this. What to do?

Fairphone 4: Fairphone 4 cannot receive network

My Fairphone 4 cannot find any networks. I've tried multiple simcards which all work in other phones but in the Fairphone 4 they cannot find any network. Could this be a problem with the antenna? Or a software problem? I think the antenna is included in the rear camera module, so I could replace that, but I would like to know for sure if this is the problem before I do.

Fairphone: swapping earbuds from old broken cable to new earphone cable

Hi. I’ve been sent a new earphone cable for my Fairphone earphones for my Fairphone 3. All I have to do is swap the earbuds from the old to the new cable but I’ve tried twisting them off and nothing is happening and I can’t find any instructions anywhere for this! Can anyone help? I find it so odd that self-repair and modularity is such a selling point for Fairphone but they seem to make it so unnecessarily obscure?!

Fairphone 3: Screw in Fairphone turnt through - any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi! My Fairhphone met some oil in my bag unfortunately, so I tried to open it and clean it, but unfortunately one of the screws is not coming loose, and I’m afraid I’ve tried it so many times that the screwhead doesn’t fit in right anymore. Any ideas on how I could fix this?

Fairphone 2: Any chance to fix the display after fall into water?

Great community,

To the more experienced among you,

My phone fell into the water just 3/4 days ago, but it is still working. What I've already done:

- Took everything apart, including the motherboard.
- Cleaned everything with isopropyl alcohol

At that time, the screen still worked (although water stains are visible), but at first not the “touch” feature.

Then, 1 day later, the "touch" feature worked again.

At that time, I left it unplugged and let it dry one more day.

But since then, complete black screen, even after many tries, plugging/unplugging/cleaning/etc.

So, I let it again dry for another 4/5 hours at 45°C (max). But it still doesn’t works.

I know the problem is with the screen, because I'm using a replacement screen that works very well. But I hate to throw away electronics and would do everything to fix it.

My question:

What are my chances of fixing it (I don't have that much tools)? And what else can I try?

- Dip it completely in an isopropyl alcohol bath?
- Disassemble it (but how?)
- Wait 1 full week?

PS: I couldn’t open the 2 small EMI shields on the bottom, to clean the underlying electronic components. Maybe they are soldered(?)

I would be pleased to hear other opinions. This is not my first repair, so I feel comfortable with trying advanced repairing, even if difficult. (And, I have not much to loose on this display)

This is not the point. I repair everything I own, and usually with success. (And, yes, Fairphone are great about repairability !)

PS: I’m surprised that a quick search didn’t reveal any advanced display disassembly (youtube have a few things about it). Did I miss anything?

Fairphone 3: What glue is needed for the screen unit?

The screen on the fairphone 3+ has started to come away from the phone after being dropped. It still works, it’s just loose at the top. Rather than buying a whole new screen module, it seems we should just be able to carefully glue this one back together.

We’re not sure what glue to use though; what would you recommend?

Fairphone 2: I need to put my speaker on when calling

I have a Fairphone 2. it still works quite okay, I only have the issue that the one receiving my phone call doesn’t hear my voice unless I put the speaker on which means that I don’t have any privacy anymore as everything we talk about is loud and clear for everybody :(. What do I have to replace in order to solve that problem?

Fairphone 1: Dropped my phone and now it turns itself off after around 5 minutes on

I dropped my FP1 today and the battery went immediately from 51% to 18%.

I turned it on and it keeps turning itself off after around 5 minutes on,

What can I do? I really need my phone and I want to fix it tonight.
