Epson surecolour p900: Front and rear paper feeds not working: false paper jam error

Started with front paper feed making a grinding noise and a false paper jam error. I am using thick art matte paper and have it set correctly. This error started suddenly. I started using the rear feed more often, with a thinner art matte paper, but the rear paper feed doesn’t grab the paper most of the time. This printer is 2 years old and prints are beautiful, but this false paper jam error is not. I have cleared and reset many times, and there’s no dust issues and nothing to cause a jam

Epson surecolour p900: Epson SureColor P900 Paper Jamming Issue (Thicker Paper)

I’ve been using my Epson SureColor P900 for about two years, and recently, I started having issues with paper jams. Specifically, thicker paper (fine art paper) jams in the printer, even without printing.

When I load the paper through the front feeder and try to eject it, it gets stuck. I have to pull it out backwards. It seems to hit the tray of the front feeder, and I’ve tried adjusting the tray to make sure it’s seated correctly, but the issue persists.

I'm sure that no piece of paper or some other foreign object similar blocks the path. The first photo shows the upper paper guide. The second photo is a peek under the front tray.

Thinner paper can feed through, but it makes a scratching noise, and the front edge gets slightly dented.

The strange thing is that this problem started to occur suddenly, from one print to the other.

Has anyone experienced this issue? Any ideas on potential fixes or things I should check?
